Welcome back, Carton Show Big Mac.

Your calls in a second. I typically don't acknowledge these things because frankly, when it comes to professional athletes, it's beneath them for this to be celebrated. But because it's the Jets, I just have to get this in there before everyone else finds out about it. And that way you can all tell your kids, I heard the Carton Show, tell me first, daddy. That kind of thing. Defensive Player of the Week in the NFL? A little somebody we like to call, we don't wear no gloves, because I'm a man, David Bailey.

Chris McMonigle (0:35)

Well earned.

Craig Carton (0:35)

Oh, that's right. We give a bottle of Yoo-hoo.

Chris McMonigle (0:38)

Nice.

Craig Carton (0:38)

Congratulations, kid.

Chris McMonigle (0:40)

Didn't, didn't... I'm sorry.

Craig Carton (0:42)

I'm sorry.

Chris McMonigle (0:42)

No, no. Didn't Banks win that award last week?

Craig Carton (0:45)

Again.

Chris McMonigle (0:45)

I don't remember. Where were you? I don't remember any Yoo-hoo being given out.

Craig Carton (0:48)

Where were you celebrating it?

SPEAKER_3 (0:49)

I wasn't. That's on you, kid. Not my job to point that out.

Chris McMonigle (0:51)

It's not that worth celebrating, but okay.

Craig Carton (0:53)

I agree, 100%.

Chris McMonigle (0:54)

So then what are you doing?

Craig Carton (0:54)

These are grown men.

SPEAKER_3 (0:55)

These are adults.

Craig Carton (0:56)

That's exactly right, sir.

Chris McMonigle (0:58)

Hey, Cooper coming back.

Craig Carton (1:01)

Well, Cooper's coming back. No, he's always week to week.

Chris McMonigle (1:04)

He's not going to play.

Craig Carton (1:05)

Sadiq's in concussion protocol.

Chris McMonigle (1:07)

That doesn't sound too good.

Craig Carton (1:09)

But don't matter. Patriots ain't that good. We'll get to them. I just want to acknowledge for everyone else has it, that an award which I think is the most comical thing to give an adult professional athlete.

SPEAKER_3 (1:19)

I'm going to acknowledge it.

Craig Carton (1:21)

Best defensive player in football last week. And like a man, no gloves.

Chris McMonigle (1:26)

You're big on the no gloves.

Craig Carton (1:27)

I love no gloves. Because I'm a throwback. Like if I played, no gloves. They used to call me no gloves McGinty, by the way, back in the day.

Chris McMonigle (1:36)

I'm sure they did.

Craig Carton (1:36)

They did. They called me, and my son who played college football, no gloves.

Chris McMonigle (1:41)

Even in the rain?

Craig Carton (1:42)

They called him no gloves McGinty Jr. That's correct. In the rain, in the snow, and a running back, no gloves. Mike's played a couple of the drops.

Chris McMonigle (1:54)

And the fumbles?

Craig Carton (1:54)

He had a fumbling problem. He wasn't a fumbler.

Chris McMonigle (1:57)

No.

Craig Carton (1:57)

I don't think he was a last year in college football, he had a single lost fumble. Is that right? I'm looking at him right now.

You might have put it on the turf once or twice, but I don't think he had a single lost fumble. His last year as a college football player. That's right.

Chris McMonigle (2:10)

And with no gloves.

Craig Carton (2:12)

No gloves.

Chris McMonigle (2:12)

Impressive.

Craig Carton (2:13)

Now, if you were part of my family, you could be no gloves McGinty III.

Chris McMonigle (2:18)

Yeah, I played with gloves.

Craig Carton (2:19)

Of course you did.

Chris McMonigle (2:20)

As an offensive lineman, played with gloves. Okay.

Craig Carton (2:24)

Manly? A little bougie.

Chris McMonigle (2:26)

All good though. Played with batting gloves as well. Baseball. You need batting gloves. Nothing better than the accoutrement of playing baseball.

Craig Carton (2:33)

I can only imagine like what your kids are dealing with now. And my kids had a little bit of it. Like the things you have to buy for your kids now to play youth sports.

Chris McMonigle (2:42)

Just every day, even football.

SPEAKER_3 (2:43)

The oven mitts. Sleeves.

Chris McMonigle (2:45)

No, the oven mitts in the back pocket. It's ridiculous.

Craig Carton (2:47)

That dumb bat from a year ago, everybody had to have the bubble bat, what was it called?

Chris McMonigle (2:50)

Yeah, the bubblegum bat or the pencil was a big one, too.

SPEAKER_3 (2:54)

Was that a big one?

Chris McMonigle (2:55)

It looks like a pencil with an eraser on top.

SPEAKER_3 (2:56)

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Chris McMonigle (2:57)

That's a big bat everyone has to have. Yeah, I know. All of the baseball lifestyle. Pants and clothes, the whole thing.

Craig Carton (3:02)

But do the kids buying the oven mitts for sliding? Is that a big thing that you have to have it?
