Craig and Big Mac Debate Aaron Boone’s Yankees Legacy
The Carton Show with Craig Carton & Chris McMonigle
October 9, 2026
Craig and Big Mac dive into the polarizing tenure of Aaron Boone, examining if the Yankees manager is to blame for the team's recurring postseason failures. They also explore the fallout from Sebastian Maniscalco taking over SiriusXM’s comedy platform and the impact on touring comics.

By the way, quick football, Lamar Jackson out this week with that ankle injury too.
Chris McMonigle (0:04)
Yeah.
Craig Carton (0:05)
Baltimore a little up and down this season.
Chris McMonigle (0:07)
Yeah, and two teams trying to take control, two Sean Payton taking over the play calling offensively, and D'Nico Ryan's taking over the defensive play calling as they're 0-4. A Super Bowl defending team. And defense has been shredded.
Craig Carton (0:19)
Shredded, yeah.
Chris McMonigle (0:20)
So we'll see if the Texans against the Titans can do what they did last year and figure out a way to come back from a dead start of the season, but 0-4 is damn near impossible.
Craig Carton (0:29)
0-4 is, you almost have to run the table.
Chris McMonigle (0:32)
Yeah.
Craig Carton (0:33)
You know, type of scenario.
Chris McMonigle (0:34)
We're pretty close.
Craig Carton (0:35)
Or win like 8, 9, 10 in a row to make it interesting.
Chris McMonigle (0:37)
But there's a handful of games that are good this week.
Can the Bears keep it up with the backup quarterback against Green Bay? Oh, no, Caleb again? I don't think Caleb's playing this week, no.
Craig Carton (0:46)
Oh, they're saying his question was upgraded to questionable. Oh, okay.
Chris McMonigle (0:49)
I was assuming he was out.
Craig Carton (0:51)
Yeah, they're saying, I'm here, I'm my people, my sources are telling me that he's been upgraded to questionable. Real quick, before we get back to your calls, we should note the passing of Chicago Bears legend Mike Ditka, who once famously said if they wanted men to play soccer, they wouldn't have given us arms. This is interesting, Dick.
Chris McMonigle (1:15)
Yeah.
Craig Carton (1:16)
He did say that. I'm sure he did.
Chris McMonigle (1:18)
There's only one problem with that. How would Anthony Gallo wear soccer goalie jerseys?
Craig Carton (1:23)
Well, I've seen armless people wearing jerseys. Yeah. Yeah. You know the armless girl's boyfriend throws footballs at her and she never catches any? No. She always has a jersey on.
I don't know how she gets it.
Chris McMonigle (1:35)
Is that a YouTube thing?
Craig Carton (1:37)
I think you probably use your mouth or something.
Billy (1:39)
Right?
Craig Carton (1:39)
You're probably very adept at that or your feet become like...
Billy (1:42)
Yeah, I know.
Chris McMonigle (1:43)
You see those people who like...
Craig Carton (1:44)
I guess like monkey-cutting away. Like you're able to lift things up and use your like your feet.
Chris McMonigle (1:49)
Yeah, people feed them.
Craig Carton (1:50)
Your toes.
Chris McMonigle (1:50)
Fork and knife.
Craig Carton (1:51)
You'd have to be so flexible, though. Like I think if I was armless...
Chris McMonigle (1:54)
Wouldn't you work on it?
Craig Carton (1:57)
I'd starve, I think.
Chris McMonigle (1:59)
Well, right now...
Craig Carton (2:00)
Boring enough to eat like, you know, face and plate kind of thing.
Chris McMonigle (2:03)
But if you were born with no arms, you grow accustomed to that flexibility, don't you think?
Craig Carton (2:08)
Yes, I think if you're born with that arms...
Chris McMonigle (2:10)
As a kid, you always do it, so then your body becomes used to that position.
Craig Carton (2:13)
Your arms are like not even a stump, like you can't get a prosthetic on it, you're just all shoulders.
Chris McMonigle (2:19)
Yeah.
Craig Carton (2:19)
You're that kind of person.
Chris McMonigle (2:20)
Right.
Craig Carton (2:21)
There's a girl, attractive woman, on TikTok, whose boyfriend throws footballs at her, and it's almost like...
And usually it comes out, and in other sports, like he throws things at her, but she's game for it, like she's a fun time. Yeah. Like when Aaron Judge dropped the ball and sent her a couple years ago, he went out there, put her in a Yankee hat, and said, look, she's just as good as Aaron Judge, yeah. You don't know the girl I'm talking about? You haven't seen this girl?
Chris McMonigle (2:50)
No, I don't.
Craig Carton (2:51)
She's armless.
Chris McMonigle (2:52)
I understand.
Craig Carton (2:53)
But she's like, has a sense of humor about it.
Chris McMonigle (2:55)
I get it.
Craig Carton (2:55)
She's not like, woe is me.
Chris McMonigle (2:57)
So yeah, for clicks, she allows someone to throw things at her.
Craig Carton (3:00)
Her boyfriend, her husband. Yeah. So like she puts on like a giant's helmet, and he's like, look, it's O'Dell Beckham.
So anytime anyone does something like that.
Billy (3:09)
And it just falls and bounce off her chest.
Chris McMonigle (3:10)
Right, yeah.
Craig Carton (3:12)
