All right, there's this amazing book called Getting Everything You Can Out Of All You've Got. I read it a few years ago and it changed my life.
And the reason I loved it was because it basically talks about how to get and make more money using things that you already have. Coincidentally, today's podcast is brought to you by Business Made Simple. It's a podcast by Donald Miller, who I'm gonna tell you about in a second, but he has this amazing episode that's all related to this book and the things that I learned in this book. It's called How To Make Money With What You Already Have. It's an incredible episode. Talks about all the stuff that I learned in this book. The host is Donald Miller. I didn't know who Donald Miller was up until recently, but over the last 12 months, this is totally by coincidence. It was all separate people. They said you have to check out Donald Miller. He's amazing. So I'm happy that he's part of HubSpot's podcast network. You can check it out, Business Made Simple Podcast. It's where he coaches you on how to build your business like an airplane, where the cockpit is your leadership, the body is your overhead, the right engine is your marketing, the left engine is your sales. You have to check it out. This guy's amazing. It's called Business Made Simple with Donald Miller.
Sam Baichman Fried was 19 years old, about 19 years old, about when this post was posted in 2010 And I just wanna read, this is gonna be a little bit long, but it's really interesting. I wanna read what this post says. So it says, first off, and this is a review of someone using this drug.
First off, I'm a 19 year old male, about 170 pounds who is experimenting with nootropics out of curiosity. A few months ago, I ordered a bottle with 60 doses of five milligrams of selaginolene from a research chemical site. And I've been taking it pretty much every day.
The day I started taking it, I noticed a marked increase in motivation. For me, it was money. There was a huge desire for me to make as much money as possible.
All right, what's going on, we have an awesome episode. So we're gonna start off by talking a ton about controversy. In fact, this entire episode, it feels like it's about controversy. So the first part is on FTX, and we talk about the drugs that they are on. And it's kind of funny, actually, how ridiculous it is. The second thing we talk about is Liver King. You guys have to hear this story. It's about this yoked guy who's like this fitness influencer who's built this $100 million company. Turns out he's been on steroids the whole time. But in my opinion, that's actually not the most interesting part. The most interesting part is like these emails that we got our hands on about him talking about how he was gonna get huge on Instagram and he totally called this shot.
And then we talk about buying and selling high really expensive real estate. We're talking like things that are like 30, 40, $50 million and how this one woman, Katie, bought some real estate that kind of sent some signals to Shaan and how he thinks it's a little mysterious and how she actually afforded that. It's a really, really interesting story. So check it out. I think you're gonna like this episode.
All right, we're live. I have two interesting things to bring up to you.
And I think they're both pretty hilarious.

Hit me.

**Shaan Puri** (2:53)
The first one, we've talked about FTX. We've talked about Sam Bakeman Fried, but something in the next two segments, I completely ripped off a YouTube channel called More Plates, More Dates. So I don't wanna take credit for any of this.
Something that's interesting is that these guys were doing drugs, sometimes they call them nootropics, but they're really just amphetamines or drugs.
And they were talking about it publicly. We're looking back, it's just hilarious how blatant this was and they just were rubbing it in our face. And so I wanna talk about that. Do you know anything about that with these folks?

**Sam Parr** (3:28)
So I know what you're talking about. I know that they were kind of like open about it, promoting it, but like you said, this wasn't seen as too much of a red flag. It was sort of almost like, oh man, this is that like ultra competitive nerd thing where they're like basically, you know, I guess doing Adderall and making all this money. So when you're making money, it's like not seen as as much of a bad thing.
