Welcome back to the Daily Crypto Roundup. It is Saturday, July 25th, and today the market is trying to steady itself after another tech-led wobble. But the biggest story is not the price action. The Clarity Act is being pushed towards a Senate vote, even though supporters may still be seven votes short. The White House is telling Democrats they have already won a historic concession from Donald Trump. And almost $17 million of official Trump tokens has moved into custody wallets while that ethics battle intensifies. We also have a major institutional trading platform considering a sale or stock market listing at a valuation of up to $5 billion.
At the time of recording, Bitcoin is around $64,131, Ethereum $1,625, XRP $1.06, BNB $566, Solana $78, Dogecoin just above $0.07, Cardano $0.16, and Hyperliquid $63.
Weekend prices can change quickly, so check the live market. Before we move on, we need to say a genuine thank you to every single person who has taken the time to rate Crypto News Today on Spotify, because we have now passed 300 ratings. That might sound like just a number, but to us, it is massive. This show has been built day by day, episode by episode, with no enormous media company behind it and no huge advertising budget pushing it. It has grown because people listen, come back, recommend it to somebody else, and take a few seconds to leave a rating. So whether you have been listening since the early days or discovered us this week, thank you. Every five-star rating gives new listeners another reason to trust the show, and seeing us pass 300 is a reminder that there is a real community forming around Crypto News Today. We genuinely appreciate every one of you who helped us reach it. We will be announcing the winner on Monday to give the rest of you time to catch up over the weekend. This episode is supported by Kraken. New users who register through our link in the description and complete the required steps can message us to enter our XRP giveaway. It gives you access to Bitcoin, XRP, Ethereum, and a wide selection of other digital assets. But this is not financial advice. Crypto trading involves a risk of loss, prices are volatile, and you should never trade with money you cannot afford to lose. The market story is a familiar one. Crypto is being pulled around by the same risk appetite driving technology and artificial intelligence shares. Bitcoin briefly approached $66,000 before slipping below $64,000 as US technology stocks weakened. Earlier on Friday, Dogecoin was down 4.5%, while Ethereum, XRP, and Solana were each roughly 2.5% lower. Bitcoin held up better than most major coins, which is normally what happens when investors become more cautious. This did not initially look like a complete breakdown. Most major assets remained positive over seven days, and CoinDesk described the move as more of a pause after a strong week than a clear reversal.
However, there are warning signs underneath the surface. US spot Bitcoin exchange traded funds ended a seven-day inflow streak with $225.1 million of outflows, including $202.5 million from BlackRock's iBit.
CryptoQuant also argued that Bitcoin around $65,000 was being supported more by shorter-term traders than by fresh institutional and long-term capital.
That matters because trader-driven support can disappear faster than genuine accumulation. When leverage and momentum are doing the heavy lifting, one week stock market session, unexpected inflation number or hawkish federal reserve comment can trigger a sharper move. It does not mean Bitcoin must collapse, but it does mean the market may be more fragile than the headline price suggests. The next test is whether buyers return with real spot demand, rather than simply another burst of future speculation. And if you hold your crypto yourself, a hardware wallet such as Ledger can help keep your private keys offline. The official link is in the description. Now to Washington, because the Clarity Act is entering what could be its decisive week. Senate Majority Leader John Thune wants to begin moving the bill before senators leave for the August recess.
His message was straightforward. Start the process and see where the votes actually are. Republicans hold 53 Senate seats, so even if every Republican supports the procedural vote, they still need roughly seven Democrats to reach the 60 votes required to overcome a filibuster. A vote could happen even if the bill is expected to fail, forcing every senator to take a public position. The House passed its version in July 2025, and the Senate Banking Committee advanced its Section 15-9 in May 2026 Senator Cynthia Lummis released an updated combined draft on July 22nd. But negotiation time is extremely limited. The bill would draw clearer boundaries between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, while creating rules for digital commodities, exchanges and certain non-custodial developers. Without legislation, the industry remains dependent on agency interpretations that future administrations can reverse. That is why Ripple, Coinbase, Fidelity and several industry groups are pushing the Senate to act. There's been one useful breakthrough. The National Fraternal Order of Police, representing more than 382,000 members, reversed its earlier opposition and endorsed the revised bill after reviewing changes designed to preserve law enforcement powers over digital asset crime. That removes one obstacle, but it does not solve the biggest disagreement of Donald Trump's crypto interests and who would enforce the proposed ethics restrictions. The latest draft would temporarily prevent senior officials, including the president, vice president, members of Congress and federal judges, from issuing or sponsoring digital assets.
