Another week, another episode.
As always, I'm your host, Shaun Holko. alongside my guy, Mr. Jaevon Totty, the pod father, Kevin Dent of the podcast. Our guy, Kevin, will not be able to be with us today as Jaevon, he just got back from going to the East Coast and Kevin already brought it up on the podcast. And so I think I can speak on it is that Kevin just got to go to his first game at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Eagles, his favorite football team. And so I'm so happy for Kevin. Kevin will be back with us next week. And Kaz Johnson, just casually, will be unable to be with us this week. And so we hope that we see him soon. Mr. Jaevon Totty, how are we doing today?
Jaevon Totty (1:14)
I'm feeling great, man. A lot of football this week and a lot of football.
Just so glad to have it back. You just, the shit talk, the just camaraderie, the group chats, the teams. You know, our team was one of the first teams to play. So our group chat got to fill my wrap a little bit of what was to come for the rest of the season. So now everyone's starting to catch up. All the games are going on now. So, you know, Kevin, he was at Lincoln Financial this past weekend. He just keeps on telling me I'm home. So if you guys do follow Kevin on Instagram, he has a photodump that you might want to check out that kind of gave the summary of his trip. So we'll have him back next week or whenever we record next. So glad to be back.
Shaun Holkko (2:08)
I'm glad to be back as well as we are here to recap week one in the NFL. And we got our Pick'ems already started. And so make sure to look at Stats Over Politics on Twitter, Stats Over Politics on Instagram to see our picks every single week. And Totty, if I'm looking at this correctly, the three of us, you, me, and Kevin are all tied up when it comes to the Pick'em to start the season. Because if I recall correctly, we both picked the Seahawks and 49ers, all three of us. And then as far as the Sleeper Pick'em, it's got us all three with nine. So that would give us all 11 wins to start the season, five losses. And so things are tight, but getting to our YouTube comments real quickly, our guy Kevin is in the comments and he says, Go Burs!
Out of body experience, missed the guys though. We miss you too, Kevin. And he says, wanna know in fantasy, Shaun, Totty wishes he was like us.
Totty, what happened in the Stats Over Politics fantasy?
Jaevon Totty (3:09)
Okay, so.
Shaun Holkko (3:12)
Because I whooped Uncle Manny's ass.
Jaevon Totty (3:14)
Yeah, I'm in two different fantasy leagues. In ours, Stats Over Politics fantasy league, I basically went up the exact same, my exact same team in a different league. And I put belt to ask in that league. It just so happens I was on the other end in this league because he has all my players. So, shout out to Kyle, man.
We'll get some things squared away. You know, week one, you know, some things, it's a boomer bus week one. So I wouldn't overreact.
Shaun Holkko (3:42)
Yeah, as Jaevon lost Kyle, 147 to 104 Kevin gets the dub against cousin James 172 to 139 So a tremendous week one for Kevin's squad. Yeah, that was extremely high scoring. And, you know, I put belt to ask on Uncle Manny's team as I won 149 to 86
My team had a great week. Uncle Manny's team didn't show up. I'm sure that won't be the case throughout the rest of the season. And I can't believe that my...
Jaevon Totty (4:08)
It's good to know Patrick Mahomes is good again. So he will be starting next week for me.
Shaun Holkko (4:14)
Yeah, yeah. Patrick Mahomes, the boogie man is back. And so Totty, let's not waste any more time. Let's get right into it. As the Chiefs beat the Broncos on Monday night football, just what was your reaction to...
Ultimately, it looks like the Chiefs are back. Is that your opinion as well?
Jaevon Totty (4:30)
Yeah, I mean, I had them third in the AFC West, so maybe we'll have to make some adjustments there. It looks like Kenneth Walker is very good at football. 23 carries, 175 yards. I think he had three total touchdowns. I mean, this guy is an absolute machine. Makes all the sense of why he was a Super Bowl MVP.
