Officials are responding after a fire involving hazardous material broke out in the Metro East Wednesday morning, impact the area of Sauget, Cahokia Heights and East St. Louis. According to the St. Clair County Emergency Management Agency, fire broke out in an industrial area around 12:45 a.m. south of Missouri Avenue between 50th and 19th streets in Sauget, Cahokia and East St. Louis. The fire triggered an Everbridge notification to all phones in the area. Residents are advised to shelter in place, close windows, refrain from utilizing systems, which may bring outside air into the house. So that's air conditionings.
