What's up, everyone? Welcome to the 739th episode of the Pokemon Podcast. It's Super Effective. I'm your host, Steve. With me is Bobby.
Bobby (0:24)
Hello. I have beef with Austin.
Steve Sarumi (0:29)
You aren't even here.
Austin (0:30)
You're not supposed to know about that.
Bobby (0:31)
How dare you speak the way you spoke about Alola?
Austin (0:36)
I thought I was going to get off squeaky clean. I was like, oh, he's not going to listen to this. I thought you're here enough. You're not going to listen to an extra episode.
Steve Sarumi (0:46)
But I'm not on an episode, which is very rare. I listen.
Austin (0:51)
Oh, yeah, I'm listening when I'm not here.
Bobby (0:53)
Exactly. You gotta hear what's going on.
Austin (0:57)
I'm sorry, but I do stand by it.
Steve Sarumi (1:00)
Austin here.
Austin (1:03)
I have been watching the new season of The Traders. Welcome to Reality TV Hour. No, but yeah, new season of The Traders.
Steve Sarumi (1:12)
What does traders mean? Like, are we trading Pokemon cards?
Austin (1:15)
No, no trading Pokemon cards. Did you ever watch anybody play or maybe play yourself like One-Night Ultimate Werewolf?
Steve Sarumi (1:21)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Austin (1:22)
It's similar to that.
Steve Sarumi (1:23)
Oh, okay.
Austin (1:24)
But yeah.
Steve Sarumi (1:25)
That's a bad name.
Austin (1:27)
Traders.
Steve Sarumi (1:28)
Oh, like not trading. No, like T-R-A-I-T-O-R-S. Oh, trade, I see, I see.
Bobby (1:37)
Is it better than Big Brother?
Austin (1:38)
No. And then Survivor starts next week.
Bobby (1:43)
Wow. What a what a time.
Austin (1:45)
I'm so excited.
Steve Sarumi (1:46)
What a time to be alive, really, honestly.
We have a show for you guys today. Hoshino is back. This man loves to do interviews. This actually interview was from Worlds. So like two ish, three ish weeks ago. But Bobby wasn't here last week. We didn't want to put Hoshino's interview track record on to Chris. Then we would have had to explain that this man loves nonstop interviews that really I don't think benefits anyone.
Austin (2:21)
Maybe he benefits us.
Bobby (2:23)
Yeah, it really does benefit us.
Austin (2:25)
I have a great time reading these.
Steve Sarumi (2:29)
We have we have Hoshino this week. We have the ESA and the Pokemon Company with a new costume Pikachu. Pokemon is bringing the Halloween stuff back even though skipped it last year, but it's like way scaled down this year. Scarlet and Violet gets more content. You heard that right. Scarlet and Violet, not ZA.
If you're a ride or die ISE listener, and you knew that ZA wasn't going to get anything else.
Bobby (3:05)
True.
Steve Sarumi (3:07)
They were finished with that game well before it came out.
Bobby (3:12)
Yes.
Yes, they were. Yes, they were.
Steve Sarumi (3:15)
So finished they announced DLC before that game came out.
Bobby (3:18)
At least that game was finished when it came out though, Pokemon like Scarlet and Violet.
Steve Sarumi (3:23)
That's a fair point. The game was broken. That's very true. And if you stick around for our bonus segment, patreon.com/pkmncst, or if you're in the Apple Podcast app on your iOS device, you can upgrade to the premium feed there. Anyways, a bonus segment is TCG Live. Got an update to do the 30th celebration. We'll also talk a little bit about 30th in general. TCG stuff is on the bonus this week, if you care about that. And yeah, that should be our show for you guys today. So let's just let's just jump in with Mr. Hoshino. This is off VG, this is off VGC of Video Game Chronicles. Not the very fitting, though, VGC.
It's a video game chronicles.com titled Pokemon Champions Director vows to keep turn based battles as single player is ruled out. There was a lot of websites that had exclusive interviews with Hoshino.
I'm giving you the behind the scenes. You maybe saw that Serebii also said that he had an exclusive interview with Hoshino. This was a round table interview. So what that means is they they brought in a handful of different outlets. I actually believe that almost all the people sitting at the round table with Hoshino were European people. Now, keep in mind, TPCI EU is different than TPCI US., which is also both subsidiaries of TPC in Japan.
Yes. So I believe TPCI EU got this interview for Serebii and other European gaming outlets. It's just a bunch of people sitting in the room listening to Hoshino's answer.
Bobby (5:30)
Amazing. Imagine to be there live listening to this.
