Back on Cashing Out, I'm Dustin Swedelson. This is VSiN, the SportsBetting Network, coming at you, as always, from the Circus Sportsbook in downtown Las Vegas. In case you missed it, Monday Night Football is coming and gone. San Francisco with the win over Washington, 23-17. Commanders, though, get the cover, plus the seven, seven and a half. We go under the total of 51 and a half. And now underdogs have covered in 10 straight primetime games, 15 and four against the spread run there, as Washington gets the cover in the loss. And the MVP race, Brock Purdy and Josh Allen just keep flip-flopping every which way, every single game. The World Series is officially set. It's the Brewers against the Rays, Tampa Bay with the win in game six to advance. And they are going to take on Milwaukee, where we will get a first time ever World Series winner at the end of 2026

That's where we stand with all of that. We do have to tackle the top stories in the NFL though, right now, and we'll do it in the three-point stance.

And we begin with some news that probably isn't that shocking if you've been following it, but the news out of the city of brotherly love is that Jalen Hurts is gonna be out for the season with blood clots. I mean, there's a scary injury when we heard about it, but as more information came out throughout the day, difficult to figure out what is and isn't 100% true, depending on who the source is of that story, but based on the findings, here's what was laid out earlier today via reporters. So the expectation for Jalen Hurts is he's gonna be out about three months. That puts him through the regular season at the very least and most of the playoffs.

Found out that there was a superficial blood clot when the Eagles were in London. Team doctors, according to one report, instructed him not to sleep because that was dangerous. So according to that report, he did not sleep for 36 hours and then played in the London game. Somehow playing in the game was less dangerous than sleeping at that point. That doesn't seem like it adds up. The blood clots eventually move locations, which is super dangerous.

And then for some reason, he was allowed to get on a flight back to the United States. He's now on blood thinners. And because of that, you can't play on blood thinners because it's super dangerous. And with that, he is out for the season. Nick Sirianni met with the media earlier today. And here's how that interaction went when concerning this Jalen Hurts injury.

Nick, why was Jalen Hurts allowed to fly home despite the team knowing that he had a blood clot?

Nick Sirianni (2:48)

Again, I'm not a medical expert. Same deal there. We get medical information from our guys. And we always put the players' health first and foremost in every situation.

And that's where we were there.

Were you briefed by the medical team before you did this press conference on why he was permitted to fly despite the blood clot?

Yeah, guys, I talked to them a lot.

Guys, I've addressed this. I've talked to you guys about this. Again, the medical experts are there. And I think I've answered this question multiple times. We put out a statement for you guys to hear.

OK, look, I'm not the biggest Nick Sirianni guy. I think that was totally unfair, that he has to be the one up there answering questions, that he didn't make these decisions. There's no way that Nick Sirianni is involved in saying, Jalen Hurts, you have to play through a blood clot. OK, like, I'm just going to live in reality for a minute. I think it's really unfair that the people involved in this decision making, the medical team, are not up there answering questions because based on an outsider's perspective, it looks like they put Jalen Hurts' life in danger, not just playing in the game, but then flying back to the country with blood clots. To me, this is all crazy and Sirianni is in a tough spot. And for the Eagles, it's over. The season is over. Let's be very clear about this. They cannot, will not, in no way win this division. They also have a GM in Howie Roseman who is very forward thinking. They're going to sell parts. They're going to acquire assets and they're going to try to hit the ground running next year. With the news that Hurts was out for the season, they move out to the longest shot on the board at 5.5 to 1 to win the NFC East. That's totally justified and makes all the sense in the world.
