This is Cashing Out with your host, Dustin Sweetilson on VSiN, the SportsBetting Network.

Cashing Out rolls on from the Circus Sportsbook in downtown Las Vegas. I'm Dustin Sweetilson. We got a lot going on here this time of year. You know, the NBA season is approaching. We've got hockey already underway, which makes no sense in the world. I don't understand it. College football just about every single night. The NFL obviously takes over Monday, Thursday, Sunday. Eventually, they'll start stealing an occasional Wednesday, a Saturday once we get into the playoffs. It's a wild time, which is why we put out betting guides over at vsin.com. Right now, our NBA betting guide is out currently, just dropped yesterday. You go to vsin.com, slash subscribe, become a pro. You can get not just that guide, but every guide we do. If you need to find it on the website, if you're already a subscriber, by the way, you go to vsin.com, you click tools. Wait, why did my picture pop up when I click tools? I'm just kidding. No, the NBA betting guy popped up when you see tools, and you can download the guide right there. The man who put it all together joins us now. He is Zachary Cohen, VSiN Senior Editor on X at Betting on X, and he joins us now on the Progressive Guest Line. Zach, great job as always, man.
This is hard to do. You do a lot on the website. You've got tennis going on somewhere that I know you're betting every day. You've got NFL, you've got college, we've got the World Series.
Yet you and the team, you, Kelley, JVT, you put together this NBA betting guide. Congratulations, it's awesome, man.
Zach Cohen (1:28)
Thank you, I appreciate it. Yeah, it's tough work, but always feels really good when it's over. And college basketball coming up in two weeks, so not a lot of time to rest. But it is really nice to have this guide out. And I'm really excited for the start of the regular season, which is a week away now. All right.
Dustin Swedelson (1:41)
A lot of women have always said that line to me.
Zach Cohen (1:43)
It feels really good when it's over.
Dustin Swedelson (1:44)
It's usually the response that I get from them. Before we get to your plays, I'm going to do what I like to do. I wrote up one write up in this guide. A lot of other people did much deeper dives into pieces that they liked. But my one write up was Anthony Edwards for MVP. I'll make a quick case to you and get your thoughts on this. I really couldn't bet anyone else, Zach. That was looking at the odds and the upside of Anthony Edwards. I'm not betting Webin Yama at plus 210 when he's always hurt. I'm not going to bet SGA at three and a half to one when it feels like there's OKC fatigue. You'll get you at five to one, sure, but that's such a short number and he has no help. Luca five and a half to one. I love snow time. I don't know if it actually results in wins. To me, when I got to Edwards around 20 to one, I was like, hold on, LaMelo the addition, this could open up the Timberwolves. Maybe Minnesota is going to be better than people anticipate. And I think Edwards could have a monster season. Do you think my breakdown is a fair case for Edwards to win the award?
Zach Cohen (2:39)
Yeah, I actually do. I'm not just saying that because I'm on with you. I really do think that like it's an exclusive list of players that voters will even get their heads around to kind of consider for this award. And this is a player that is thought of very, very highly in the NBA.
I think a lot of people are waiting for him to kind of break into that top five and really solidify himself there. And this Timberwolves team I do think has the potential to be a top four team in the West. I do think LaMelo Ball is going to make his life a lot easier. I know there's a really good chance we see some explosive scoring from Edwards this season and on more efficient shooting than what we've seen. Because I think you put it pretty well in the guide where you're putting a lot on him when you were asking him to be your primary ball handler. There is now way less pressure on his shoulders and just more of an ability to attack weak defenses.
Dustin Swedelson (3:27)
That Cohen's with us, feeson.com/subscribe. See the new NBA betting guide. Follow Zach on X at betting on X. Let's look at some of the plays you like. And I agree with you on a couple of these will begin with Boston. The Celtics trade Jalen Brown because he didn't want to be there anymore. And he wanted to have his own team, which is a weird situation to end up in in Philadelphia where Joel Embiid is there, Tyrese Maxey is there and then LeBron James joins. So not really sure it's his own team. However, you think it's probably dumb to doubt Joe Mazzullo at this point when he gets a healthy Jason Tatum back. What do you want to do with the Celtics and what do you expect from them this year?
