The first slate of week one of the college football season is in the books. We have another slate to preview on Friday and a full one Saturday, partial Saturday and a little leftovers on Monday to help us look at all of that. We're going out to the Progressive Guest Line. We are welcoming our buddy Arthur DeCesar, longtime Vegas odds maker at Art Dice 21 on X, now over at Wager Talk. And he joins us on the Progressive Guest Line. Arthur, what a weird night for Thursday night college football.
What stood out to you? Was it the UMass upset of Rutgers 37-21, catching 29 points in a 25-1 dog? Was it Colorado with the miracle comeback win 14-13 on the road at Georgia Tech? What was the biggest element of Thursday that jumps out?

Well, I think anytime you have a 30-point underdog win their game outright and haven't won a game against an FBS opponent in years, tough to be Rutgers tonight and waking up tomorrow morning. But I'll say this, I think, you know, Coach Prime has gotten a lot of positive and negative stuff here over the last couple of years.
I was very impressed with the way they ran the ball. They were physical. They showed some toughness. I feel like Colorado hasn't done here in these first couple of years with Coach Prime. I was impressed. I know Georgia Tech has a lot of problems. They lost everyone and they're rebuilding their program as well. But to go on the road and win that game is basically a touchdown underdog. Very impressed by Colorado.

Yeah, absolutely.
I was on Colorado. I was also on the team total, though. I was a little disappointed that that that go go offense that we were told we were going to see from them didn't go enough there.

Yeah.

How about Friday's card? We've got a few intriguing games out here. San Jose State, Eastern Michigan. We also have Miami and Stanford along with USC with this one hosting Fresno State. What's the game on Friday that stands out to you?

**Arthur DeCesar** (2:19)
And that's a lot of games, especially San Jose State, Eastern Michigan, teams that all played week zero. I got to sit here and look at Miami. Miami has national championship aspirations. They have a quarterback who is going to be at the top of the heap of the Heisman. They're going to play a team in Stanford who obviously already played. That was a line that was like 23, 23 and a half, got as high as 24 and a half, has now come back down under that 24 The thing I like is the total hasn't moved. I like the over in the game.
I mean, Stanford's got a game under the belt. Now they have some offensive linemen out. Hawaii can score.
Didn't Miami score about 40 in that game? I think it's a low total. I love the over in that game.

I don't think Miami takes the foot off the gas if they're scoring. This is, as you mentioned, national title hopes for them. They need this offense with a new quarterback and a bunch of new pieces to be clicking right away if they're gonna do that, win the ACC, and ultimately make the playoff. How about on Saturday?

Heisman hopes, right? Heisman hopes, you wanna get that guy going.

That's true. How about Saturday? Boise State goes to Oregon. We've seen these two play in the past. The Ducks laying 24.5 and Eugene totals 51.5.
How about this matchup?

**Arthur DeCesar** (3:27)
Yeah, I mean, this one total really hasn't moved. You know, you see the Boise number or the Oregon number from 24.5, you know, go up half a point here and there, kind of move around a little bit. I think if I were to get involved, I would get involved with Oregon in the first half if I can find a 14
I expect Oregon to come out pretty aggressively, establish everything with their talent gap with obviously another Heisman candidate and Dante Moore. Don't forget, though, Boise has a quarterback who's been around in Madsen. Broncos score a lot of points too. I believe they averaged around 28 last year. So laying a big number, there could be some backdoor elements. That's why maybe I'd want to get involved first half.
