Hey, folks, it's Tim Murray and here we are. College football season, long Saturdays ahead, and staying locked in for an entire day of football takes a little bit more than coffee. Loreen's new pouch is built exactly for that, without the nicotine. It works just like the pouches you've seen before. Tuck one in and go about your day. Each has 50 milligrams of caffeine, about half a cup of coffee. Plus L-theanine and Alpha GPC for smooth, steady focus with no crash. And because it's Loreen, it's also got nano-hydroxyapatite, the mineral your teeth are made of. So it gives your daily enamel support in between brushings. It's smooth energy without the jitters. And it comes in mint, cinnamon and mango, all nicotine free. I love the cinnamon. Give Loreen a try.
Right now, Loreen is offering our listeners up to 50% off at buyloreen.com/college.

Cashing Out rolls on from the Circus Sportsbook in downtown Las Vegas. I'm Dustin Sweetelson, and I'll be with you all night long here. Catch the show, as always, SiriusXM Channel 189, YouTube TV, the VSin Watch app, radio affiliates across the United States of God bless America. We made it, people. College football is here. We add week zero. It's now a transition to week one, where everyone is playing in all of the games, which means we get some matchups where some of the group of six schools taking on that group before the power four, I should say, and they're swinging up. Are any of them live? Do they have a chance? And some shifts in the markets coming off week zero, we're going to cover all the bases with our next guest. He's Steve Hellwick, check him out, underdogdynasty.com, checking out a part of SB Nation. Also, he covers the MAC for Buy the Belt, and you can follow Steve on X at S underscore Hellwick, and he joins us on the Progressive Guest Line. Steve, thanks for doing this, man. And before we look ahead, I want to look backwards real quick.
First off, North Dakota State, they pick up the win over the weekend, their first game at the FBS level, 33 to seven over Jacksonville State. Jacksonville State was a team in back to back conference, USA Championship games, winning one of those things. And now the Bison, after dominating FCS for a while, they're now trying their hand at the FBS thing.
Do you think they were surprised at how they were able to manhandle the game, Cox? Or do you think that's what they expected in year one?

**Steve Hellwick** (2:47)
Maybe that's what you expect when you're so accustomed to winning the way North Dakota State has, but I was very surprised because I know what Jack State has been capable of since they've joined the FBS. They've had three straight nine win seasons. They've been a team that's run the ball really well, finished top five in the FBS three years on the ground. When they're in the trenches against North Dakota State, they can't run on them. They finished with 85 yards rushing on 2.7 yards of carry. Meanwhile, North Dakota State just grounds and pounds, 209 rushing yards, control over 36 minutes time of possession. In that game, in North Dakota State wins 33-7 at the Fargo Dome. That was a wake up call, not just to Jack State exactly, but to the Mountain West and the rest of the FBS. That North Dakota State doesn't really need a transition period. They are ready to contend. And unlike other teams transitioning from the FCS level recently, North Dakota State is allowed to compete for a conference championship, which means they're already throwing their hat in the ring for a potential playoff picture in year one, which would be absurd. I mean, we thought James Madison's adjustment was good, but you look at what North Dakota State was able to do from that physicality standpoint Saturday. And that was really impressive.

**Dustin Sweetelson** (3:56)
On the same day, Steve, North Dakota State with that win, UNLV loses to Memphis. I want to get your thoughts on that game in a moment, but does it surprise you that the odds to win the Mount West Conference shifted just off of week zero? North Dakota State's now the favorite at plus 2.45. UNLV is second at plus 2.70. Is that surprising to you?

**Steve Hellwick** (4:15)
It might be because that could be an overreaction as UNLV had a tall task in going against a really difficult Memphis defensive line. I know we didn't know too much about that Memphis team going because they were a hodgepodge of transfers, but that Memphis team was pretty viable. I still think that UNLV has a chance to win the conference, especially with Jaden Thomas back there running back, Jackson Arnold, who really showcases mobility in the first three quarters on Saturday. But North Dakota State beat a quality team in Jack State. This is a team that's hosted two straight CUSA championships, a team that I think can contend for a CUSA championship this year, and someone that returned some pretty good starters in Caden Creel, and Safety, Caleb Nix, that's been appearing on these watch lists. But North Dakota State winning 33-7, and it felt like they left some meat on the bone in that win. They only had offensive touchdowns in the first half. They didn't score a single offensive touchdown in the second half of that game. They were settling for field goals.
