Hit us all up on the network at VSiN Live, as it is week zero of the college football season. I woke up this morning, and I had just like a little tingle all throughout my body. I felt it in my extremities. No, I wasn't having a heart attack. I just felt great, because I knew that I was going to be betting on college football games. I was going to be watching college football all day, and we finally reached the time of the year that is the greatest time of the year known to men, and that is pumpkin spice season. No, it's football season. Although pumpkin spice is back now, and you can go get that, but college football is here, and we had a great day watching the college football action. We're going to continue to watch as we have a game of kicking off momentarily here in Las Vegas between UNLV and Memphis. So before we get to any recap of what happened earlier today, before we get to some of the topics we're going to talk about, I want to get you set up for this kickoff, and let's take a look at the market and see the latest movement as we are minutes away from kickoff at Allegiant Stadium between UNLV and Memphis. Right now, here at Circa, this is the biggest movement so far. Circa has UNLV minus five. Actually, we're seeing kickoff get pushed back. Kickoff is going to be about 7.15, so we have some time. Circa, minus five, total 55.5. Everywhere else, I'm seeing minus 4.5. In fact, I actually see locally here in Vegas at the south point, it's minus five. So I wonder if this is some, is it money that's on UNLV pushing the spread to minus five, or is it the Regency Bias? Notice what I said there. I didn't say recency bias, Regency Bias. Because what happens a lot of times, and we can talk about this in all sports, but football is really king because you do have, you know, your regional fan bases, okay? Depending on where you play, the market is going to be different because the local fans are betting that team. The locals are betting that home side. So if you're playing, let's say, you know, an Eagles game or a Phillies game or a Sixers game, and you're going to bet parks in Philadelphia, you might have to pay a tax on those Phillies teams there, as opposed to if you were playing at, you know, a book, any other place that's a national book or even a local book here in Vegas, because you're going to get that regional bias. And that might be what's happening here with this game. I'm seeing minus four and a half across the entire market, but yet the two Las Vegas books have UNLV minus five. Is that a regional tax that we have to pay, or is it just some UNLV alums, some people that are going to the game here at Allegiant Stadium that are flooding the market and betting heavy amounts of money to move the book here at Circa or at the South Point here in Vegas, minus five. You know, the South Point gets a lot of LA visitors as well. And I remember talking to Chris Andrews about this and Vinnie Maio, you know, who sets the lines over there. You know, years ago, we talked about this, because it's where people would drive in from LA and, you know, they would stop at that book, you know, because it's half an hour closer than going to the Strip or whatnot. But you would drive in from LA, you would stop at the South Point and you'd place your bets and you would see the Lakers get a lot of money. You would see the Dodgers. You'd see these LA teams get money at the South Point. So their lines might be a little bit different on some LA teams as opposed to where they are on, you know, where it is at other books, national books, like the DraftKings of the world. But again, this is interesting that I'm seeing here at Circa, UNLV now a five point favorite, minus, oh, now five and a half here at Circa, okay.
That's not, nope, nope, we're at five. Okay, all right, alarm, alarm. We saw a flash on the screen for a second, alarm. Circa is at minus five, minus 110, DraftKings minus four and a half, minus 115, FanDuel minus four and a half, reduced, not reduced, but shorter than DraftKings is minus 112 And again, like I said, here at the South Point in Vegas, we're seeing a minus four and a half, minus five as well. So the two Vegas books do have minus five and everywhere else, minus four and a half on UNLV hosting Memphis.
