I did not realize that Pokemon cards are unpurchasable.
No one explains this to me, because of course, I don't have any occasion to buy them. So I go to the supermarket, and I go up to that machine, which I'm assuming you could just scroll through and pick some Pokemon cards. It's like, everything just says sold out. It's like, they should just put a giant thing that says everything is sold out, because they list individual items and each one says sold out. You can scroll as long as you want, There's nothing there, right?
Trash (0:36)
So Casey, this is the trick with those machines. This is why it says no loitering. Basically, they reset every 30 to one hour. So that's why you stand in front of the machine, or to the side, because there's a camera.
And then when it hits, so people get the timings down and they show up every two minutes after the hour, every hour.
And then they'll buy it all, and then... It only drops so many. and then it resets and you got to wait again. And that's where people start fighting, because someone will come up and tap the machine and then ruin the whole thing. They're like, see?
ThePrimeagen (1:09)
That was my confusion, because Casey just said he went up to a machine and didn't say anything about getting in a fistfight. So I'm like, what did he do?
Teej (1:18)
Because I was at the wrong time.
Casey Muratori (1:20)
I was not in the time slot where anything was going to drop, so I was fine. I didn't get accosted.
Teej (1:25)
And also, Prime, look, did Casey come home with any cards? I don't think so. So there you go.
Trash (1:30)
They were probably watching him from the milk aisle or something. They're like, look at this dummy.
Teej (1:35)
They're probably like, hey, that's Casey. That guy was making fun of Trash about his Pokemon card.
Casey Muratori (1:39)
Casey was like, no, I got cards for him.
ThePrimeagen (1:41)
Yeah.
Trash (1:43)
What a hypocrite.
ThePrimeagen (1:44)
Now he's off buying cards.
Teej (1:46)
Check this out. Check this out.
ThePrimeagen (1:47)
OK, I'm ready. I'm ready.
Trash (1:51)
So these things just dropped. It's the 30th anniversary Pokemon.
Teej (1:55)
Oh, dang.
Casey Muratori (1:56)
Damn, son.
Trash (1:57)
I got four more in the mail.
ThePrimeagen (2:01)
OK, so Casey, that's why you can't get one.
Trash (2:04)
Just in case.
Casey Muratori (2:05)
I know they're all behind Trash. It is it is in the photo frame. That's where they all are.
ThePrimeagen (2:11)
Trash, when are you going to get a root? Like how much longer will it take before that entire wall? You have to clear out everything and you just stack Pokemon card boxes from ceiling to floor.
Trash (2:21)
Oh, I'm at that point. I'm already like trying to figure out what I'm doing next, because I'm out of room. I got like a whole box of like cards right here that are just... There's like 30 boxes in there. I don't even know.
Teej (2:33)
You got to get those little... He's going to snap those.
Casey Muratori (2:35)
Like the graded display case, it says like 8.7 at the top.
Trash (2:39)
Oh, the PSA 10s. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Also, shout out Big Z. She ordered me donuts this morning.
Teej (2:51)
No, no buckwheat shots today.
Trash (2:54)
I'm gonna go get them.
Casey Muratori (2:55)
Okay, okay.
I went and got some of those Krispy Kremes and they were pretty tasty. The Pokemon ones, they were pretty good.
Teej (3:03)
Really?
Casey Muratori (3:03)
Yeah.
Teej (3:04)
I mean, they're... I do feel... Go ahead, Casey.
Casey Muratori (3:06)
I was gonna say, they're super... I mean, there is not a single actual real ingredient in these donuts. I mean, they are a single polymer created by some magic of chemistry, but they're pretty tasty.
Teej (3:20)
I do have to say Krispy Kremes are like for the value. Yeah.
Casey Muratori (3:24)
Oh.
Trash (3:25)
These are your fancy West LA donuts.
ThePrimeagen (3:29)
Yeah.
Teej (3:29)
Made right.
ThePrimeagen (3:30)
I love how you just said for the value, Teej. I never want to be buying donuts. Like, you're talking about the difference between like 50 cents versus like $1.25 a donut. You're like, it's for the value. We buy Krispy Kremes that are made from space age technology and polymers and molecules, one removed from Lego plastic.
Casey Muratori (3:50)
Hey, welcome to the permanent underclass, pal. Like, we're all going to be buying Krispy Kreme donuts soon.
Teej (3:54)
There's going to be no fancy LA donuts. Every penny I have is dedicated to tokens besides my Krispy Kreme budget, okay? So it makes a huge difference, okay? I don't want to get left behind here.
