Cascadia Minerals just delivered one of the strongest intercepts in company history at its Carmacks copper-gold project in Yukon's Minto Copper Belt, extending Zone 2000S into ground the 2022 resource model had written off as barren.

Cascadia Minerals turned heads on September 1st, 2026 with hole CD-26-056 intercepting at 42.69 meters at 1.78% copper equivalent, including a standout 49.16 meters at 2.62% copper equivalent. CO. Graham Downs called it one of the strongest intersections ever returned on the property. Cascadia Minerals is focused on the Carmacks Copper Gold Project in the Yukon. The company already has a 2023 PA on its property and is targeting a pre-feasibility in 2028
CO. Graham Downs who knows Yukon well, having formerly run ATT&CK Resources, which is acquired by Hekla Mining in 2023 Graham, welcome to Mining Stock Daily.

Thanks so much for having me. It's great to be here.
Trevor Hall (1:06)
Graham, we do want to talk about the interceptor and the hole in just a minute, but maybe we should just step back first and talk a little bit about what you're focused on. Your project is 40 kilometers away from the Minto Mine?
Graham Downs (1:19)
It is just to the south of Salkirk Copper's Minto Mine. And yeah, they're looking to put that back in production the next year or two, I believe. And yeah, we're part of the, between Salkirk and ourselves, we own most of the Minto Copper Belt.
Trevor Hall (1:35)
Let's talk about the Zone 2000S, where you announced Hole 56 You wrote in the news release that the area was originally thought to be barren.
Graham Downs (1:45)
Yeah, absolutely.
You know, just stepping back a little bit when we did our due diligence looking to acquire Granite Creek Copper, almost exactly a year ago, we really thought that we could make this bigger. And we thought there was a lot of places where we could grow the resource. And we couldn't be happier with the results we're getting. And the fact that, you know, there's a chance that we might be able to connect the Zone 147 and 2000 together. We're just having a lot of success there. So very exciting.
Trevor Hall (2:17)
Can you talk about the drill program to date? You were saying that this was one of the strongest intersection ever. How does this compare to what you've seen in the drill results to date?
Graham Downs (2:28)
It really is. And I think the big thing that makes this one stand apart is that the gold grade is really picked up in this area for some reason. I don't exactly... We don't have the answer for the rationale behind that yet, but it's almost double kind of the average that we see. Normally, the gold grades are around 0.25 to 0.3. This one is 0.64.
So, that's very exciting. And, yeah, just the width and being over 1%, you know, a lot of... Most of our holes are around 0.8, 0.9, 0.7 in a lot of places, but being over 1% and having 1.78 over copper equivalent is pretty massive as well. So, you know, it's in an area that, I guess, going back a bit, just this project is kind of languished in the sense that previous operators, you know, 10, 15 years ago, were just going after the thin veneer of oxide on this project. And it wasn't until Granite Creek started turning things around and going after the Sulphide. That's... And then we were just in bad markets for so long. There just hasn't been the money to go after these things. And again, back in, you know, over a decade ago when previous operators actually hit the Sulphide mineralization, they would actually stop in a lot of cases because that's not what they were looking for. So lots of opportunity around the deposit, let alone on the entire property now.
Trevor Hall (3:48)
Now, you have, I believe this is the third release building on the 2000S story since July. When do you expect assays coming back on the 6th pending?
Graham Downs (3:59)
Well, we are looking to hopefully get another news release out for the next set of holes. We could try to batch them and we're looking to get those out before the Beaver Creek conference down in Colorado coming up in a couple of weeks here, so near the end of September. That's our goal and we should have pretty steady cadence for news.
Probably a news release every three weeks, approximately going probably right into January because we did increase the size of the meterage of the drill program. We were going to do 15,000, we bumped it up to 18,000. We'll just see whatever we can do. With the success we're having in this area, we want to get as much done as we can this year.
Trevor Hall (4:41)
You're in the Yukon as a weather cooperating with adding that 3,000 meters on.
