It's the theme song for all Jet fans yesterday. Losing control when I'm next to you, baby!

The Jets had a one double-digit lead, nine minutes to go at home, fourth quarter. The fans were awesome, by the way. I'll say this, I'm obviously not at the game yesterday, but you could tell it was loud. You could tell Green Bay was having a tough time with it. And again, listening through the TV when they weren't blasting the Minnesota-Chicago game for about five minutes on the broadcast, which I still don't get, I thought the fan base did a great job yesterday. Yeah. Great job. You know, did a terrible job yesterday. And I debated back and forth in my head, do I want to be this guy today?

I decided I do.

Chris McMonigle (0:47)

Okay.

Craig Carton (0:48)

All right.

Chris McMonigle (0:48)

You usually do.

Craig Carton (0:49)

I decided I do because I know what people are talking about. Got my finger on the pulse of football fans in New York.

The CBS, NFL Today show has become completely unwatchable, unfortunately. Okay. And the fact that the powers that be there thought it was a good idea to have Nate Burleson put on suit shorts shows you what kind of clown show that's become. Because if you want the attention to be, look what Nate's wearing. As opposed to Great Point Nate, that's all you need to know about that show. That show has completely gone off the rails and not in a good way. I could fix it, clearly.

Chris McMonigle (1:39)

Put him in pants.

Craig Carton (1:40)

Put him in pants! Put him in pants!

Chris McMonigle (1:47)

I didn't see that again. I didn't see any of the pre-games. I was watching my son's... Have you seen the video of it? No, I haven't seen it.

Craig Carton (1:53)

The only thing Nate did right is that, you know, whatever lotion he uses on his legs, solid, good pick.

But outside of that, come on, man, that's one of those outfits that's about, look at me, look at me, as opposed to listen to what I have to say as a former football player. And unfortunately, nobody in the building, I guess, has the power to say, hey, no, no, no, not a good look, buddy, yeah, between all these embarrasment, week one.

Chris McMonigle (2:27)

I'm a shorts guy, but that is... Yeah, it's a joke. It's a clown. That's a unique look with the jacket, the whole tie. It's just weird to wear shorts.

Craig Carton (2:36)

Yeah, LeBron's worn that outfit before.

Chris McMonigle (2:38)

Has he?

Craig Carton (2:39)

At a press conference back in the day, yeah.

But the reality is this, when you have nothing to add to a broadcast but you want attention, you dress like a clown because at least people are talking about how you dressed since nobody's talking about his opinion on football. And that's too bad because he's a really smart guy.

Chris McMonigle (2:58)

Yeah. Really good on TV. He's become the star of that show.

Craig Carton (3:01)

Yeah. But again, if you have something worthy to add, you don't have to dress like a clown.

Sorry. They're all just trying so hard to be hip and cool. That's annoying to me now. You know what I mean?

Chris McMonigle (3:16)

It's annoying. I mean, I don't get hung up on what people wear.

Craig Carton (3:20)

Neither do I, but it's like he wanted the attention for his outfit.

Chris McMonigle (3:23)

He wanted the attention, so now he's got it.

Craig Carton (3:24)

That was not about, hey, I'm comfortable. No.

Chris McMonigle (3:27)

It was not about... It's a good point. It's not like they're comfortable shorts.

Craig Carton (3:29)

This was about, I want attention for how I look, not because I broke down a game better than anybody else. Yeah.

Chris McMonigle (3:38)

I think that's fair.

It's a terrible... I'm not a fan, and I'm a shorts guy. Oh, come on.

Craig Carton (3:43)

It's just stupid. It's ridiculous.

Chris McMonigle (3:44)

Yeah, it's not a great look.

Craig Carton (3:45)

It's a look at me, look at me kind of. It's an insecure... I need attention because... I'm trying to think... You said that... The show I do with Gayle King is failing miserably also now.

And I'm not sure how much longer CBS Sports is going to want me here. So let me get attention for how I dress as opposed to what I say. It's sad, really.

Chris McMonigle (4:05)

I hear you. I think it's just a terrible look.

Craig Carton (4:08)

Well, you and I couldn't rock that look. Unless we sign for ACDC.
