Hey, hey, 242, Carton Show, Big Mac, 888-808-1019, Chet's of course now have the Dolphins, on Sunday afternoon, and the New York Giants, of course, have the Houston Texans now having won back-to-back games.

Craig Carton (0:17)

And look good offensively, that's the thing that scares you, because you knew the defense was offensive.

Chris McMonigle (0:20)

And they got Marvin Howes in there now, too.

Craig Carton (0:22)

Yeah, but, I mean, CJ. Stroud looked really good.

SPEAKER_3 (0:25)

He's having a good year, by the way.

Chris McMonigle (0:26)

Yeah, he is. Yeah, that defense has suddenly been giving up 30 burgers every single week. But he's been playing good ball, other than the interception of Travis Hunter, at the end of the game.

Craig Carton (0:35)

Terrible throw.

Chris McMonigle (0:36)

Which would have put the game away, put them up 10

And that obviously gave them the Jacksonville Jaguars life there. He played a very good game yesterday.

Craig Carton (0:43)

He did.

Chris McMonigle (0:43)

Yeah. It's frustrating to me, I think more so to me than you, but maybe similar. There are certain teams you watch play. The Chiefs are the obvious one to pick, right? And they obviously won yesterday.

Where, when they get the ball, it seems like there's always somebody wide open. Doesn't it feel that way?

Craig Carton (1:03)

A little bit.

Chris McMonigle (1:04)

And when the Jets play, and the Giants to a lesser extent, it's very difficult. It seems like it's so hard for them to get a first down. I know. Or to find an open wide receiver. And in other teams, it's like, everybody's open to every single play.

Craig Carton (1:19)

No, there are certain teams like that. Look, the Chiefs are, especially Andy Reid off the pie against that lousy Chargers team. My goodness, how bad are they? What a disaster it's been out there.

Chris McMonigle (1:29)

Oh, and six.

Craig Carton (1:30)

In LA.

Chris McMonigle (1:31)

Oh, and six the Chargers are now. And non-competitive, too.

Craig Carton (1:34)

McDaniel? Oh, my God. Just an awful, awful performance. But yeah, no, there is offense somewhere in this league.

And it does work, and they do scheme people open. Not here. I think Connor Hughes put out a video talking about this, and I think he's 100% right. Here's the bottom line.

I think the talent is somewhat close, but let's just for argument's sake, the Patriots and some of the better teams in football are better than the Jets in many ways, right? Certainly the Giants as well. Coaching wise. No, but even like a little bit of talent wise too, quarterback position, different things. But when you go into this matchup, and you go take on the New England Patriots, you have to have a distinct advantage in some ways from your coaching staff. They never put them in a position. They never out scheme the other team. They never do something creative to get somebody open down the field. Like it's just, they don't give the Jets anything.

Chris McMonigle (2:30)

And there's talent.

Craig Carton (2:31)

They don't give them anything.

Chris McMonigle (2:33)

The Jets have talented players. Yeah. If you had a legitimate coach here, I'm not saying they're Super Bowl good. No. But they're playoff good, especially this year.

Craig Carton (2:42)

Yeah, they could be.

Chris McMonigle (2:43)

This year's more watered down than any year. I can remember, if you take the Chiefs and the Bills in the AFC and in the NFC, gosh.

Craig Carton (2:50)

The Niners.

Chris McMonigle (2:51)

I suppose San Francisco and maybe only San Francisco right now.

Right? Like, anybody can make the playoffs right now.

Anybody, except for the Jets.

And I can't say the Giants, because the NFC East is such a crapshoot right now, where JM. Hurch is out for the year with blood clots in his lungs now. Which is a very serious thing. Washington plays that I touched on underdog against San Francisco. Expect it to lose. We'll see what happens obviously. And the Dallas Cowboys stink.

Craig Carton (3:21)

They stink. Right? They stink.

Chris McMonigle (3:23)

Like, you could win 7 games and win this division this year.

SPEAKER_3 (3:26)

You absolutely could.

Craig Carton (3:27)

That's what's so frustrating about yesterday for Jets fans. Like, that's a game, man, if you win, think about where we're sitting today.

SPEAKER_3 (3:34)

Three game lead.

Craig Carton (3:35)

Four, one and one, right? With every one of the team falling apart around them.

Chris McMonigle (3:40)

You could wrap the division up around Thanksgiving.

Craig Carton (3:43)

You could have.

Chris McMonigle (3:43)

That's right.

Craig Carton (3:44)
