Something like Creed on a Friday.

Carton Show, Big Mac.
Giants, three and one, getting ready for Washington. Jay and Daniels is back, Cowboys lose last night. And a real chance to put a little bit of air in between you guys and your competitors in the NFC East. Now, the Eagles, being on life support right now, this would be a great opportunity to take a two-game lead in the division and also get out to a two-and-oh start in the division. Having already beat the Dallas Cowboys in week one, and now you have a chance to beat Washington. It's really setting up as if the sports gods knew that the Yankees were going to disappoint us, and until the Knicks really get cracking. Let's be honest, as much as I'm a diehard Knick fan and I watch every dribble of every game, the reality is that for a lot of people, basketball doesn't start until Christmas Day. And obviously, the NFL is trying to take over Christmas now also. So the New York Giants have an opportunity to actually own New York City for the next couple of months. Now, every Knick game is going to be an event this year because they're defending champions. It'll be different. So it will be different the first couple of weeks and months of this season because we're all riding on that high. And by the way, if you watched last night's Knick preseason game, and I did, you, and I didn't tell you it was a preseason game.
Chris McMonigle (1:22)
I know from the crowd.
Craig Carton (1:23)
A, it was sold out.
SPEAKER_1 (1:24)
And B, you would have thought last night at MSG was game four of the NBA playoffs.
Craig Carton (1:32)
Pick your favorite round. Yeah. It was like, it's gonna be crazy this year at the Garden.
SPEAKER_3 (1:38)
This whole season is gonna be crazy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_1 (1:40)
I was like, it's a preseason game.
Chris McMonigle (1:41)
It's always sold out and always like that, but this is gonna have a different feel, no doubt.
SPEAKER_1 (1:45)
Yeah.
Craig Carton (1:45)
And that crowd, like every shot was like, oh yeah.
Chris McMonigle (1:49)
And I wonder if we ride the roller coaster of the NBA season this year.
Craig Carton (1:53)
More so than last year we will, a little bit.
Chris McMonigle (1:56)
No, but like being critical of the team.
Like if they go through a stretch, like do we just, hey, get us to the playoffs and we know this team will show up. Almost the antithesis of the Yankees. I don't care what happens, get us to the playoffs. I know we're tough as nails.
Craig Carton (2:14)
You and I started the show in January. Prior to you and I starting the show January 5th of this year, there were people on the radio station that had already given up on the Knicks. Being very critical of the coach, he was my clown, he's not Mike Brown, and this guy stinks, so that guy can't be trusted. We sat here, I think I may have said it even, and you were with me on it, where it's a lot guaranteed that Knicks are playing postseason basketball. I'm not going to ask for wholesale changes after a three-game losing streak, because it's going to happen. I think there'll be some Johnny Come Latelys that now want to prove they know basketball, and they'll be like, oh, you can't trust Cat now. Without the new contract, Cat's not into it. And that'll be a story line if we go down that road, because you may have heard the Knicks did announce today that we are not negotiating any contract. So Josh Hart, not negotiating.
Cat, not negotiating. So maybe later in the season, trade deadline, whatever the case may be. And I'm good with that, by the way.
I have no problem with that whatsoever. You know why? Because I trust Leon Rose.
Chris McMonigle (3:17)
That's what I'm asking.
Craig Carton (3:18)
But I do think, if there's a night, I think it's going to be interesting, where the Knicks lose by 18, and Carl Anthony Towns is being a knucklehead, yeah. These are people saying, oh, one trick pony, one and done.
Chris McMonigle (3:31)
Yeah, if they lose three in a row, or they get off to a bad start, or whatever the case may be, I wonder how long. And then even if they lose in the playoffs, I wonder what the reaction is.
SPEAKER_3 (3:40)
This whole thing. Depends when they lose.
Chris McMonigle (3:41)
This whole dynamic is going to be very interesting.
SPEAKER_1 (3:43)
But I'll tell you this, they are champions.
