The Carton Show with Craig Carton & Chris McMonigle
October 13, 2026

Carton Show Big Mac 217 there, the music player decided not to play music. Not your fault, it's a button, it's a button. Technology sometimes rears its ugly head.
Craig Carton (0:09)
It is a button.
Chris McMonigle (0:09)
It's all good. There you go!
Craig Carton (0:11)
You never know what's gonna happen.
Chris McMonigle (0:14)
Yeah, I didn't notice when I got in the car to go home last night, you guys could not help yourselves. I mean, I get in the car, vroom, vroom, I turn on the engine, I rev it, and the first thing I'm hearing, of course, is the Beatles song.
Craig Carton (0:29)
That's what he does for the last time.
Chris McMonigle (0:31)
I'm like, oh, my own. There we go. Beatles song.
Craig Carton (0:34)
That's right. Yeah. What's wrong with one Beatles song a day?
Chris McMonigle (0:37)
Nothing.
Craig Carton (0:37)
What's wrong?
Chris McMonigle (0:38)
I hadn't heard a Beatles song in a while.
So I was happy you played it. It's kind of, it was almost like, you know, when daddy's away, let's play the Beatles kind of thing. It's almost like that? It's exactly like that.
Craig Carton (0:50)
And it happens every day.
Chris McMonigle (0:51)
Does it?
Craig Carton (0:52)
Yes.
Chris McMonigle (0:52)
I gotta start tuning in more, then.
Craig Carton (0:54)
You gotta start tuning in. Maybe you don't make it to the car in time.
Chris McMonigle (0:55)
Sometimes I don't.
Craig Carton (0:56)
That's where I park.
Chris McMonigle (0:57)
Sometimes I'm lazy. I'll admit it. And I do go to the garage. But I don't, you know, and sometimes I'm three blocks away. But I try to park near where I might want to get something to eat.
So that could be Bleecker Street, because I love John's. I love Fajicos, right? There used to be a little outdoor stool, for one, where you could just sit outside, enjoy the beautiful Tuesday afternoon sun, and just suck oysters for an hour.
SPEAKER_3 (1:23)
Yeah, that's right. I did it. That sounds good.
Craig Carton (1:24)
I did it. Where was that? Where's the Oyster Shucker?
SPEAKER_3 (1:27)
It's right.
Chris McMonigle (1:27)
I don't know if it's still there, but it was, if you're facing John's and Bleecker, the first storefront to the right of it. It was a regular restaurant and bar, but there's one stool, only one.
Craig Carton (1:38)
Where you just sit outside?
Chris McMonigle (1:39)
And it's like a window to the Oyster Shucker guy, and you would sit outside by yourself and just enjoy the sun and girl watch and eat oysters.
SPEAKER_3 (1:48)
Have a beer and an oyster? Yeah, that's pretty much.
Craig Carton (1:50)
That's as good as it gets right there.
Chris McMonigle (1:51)
But we both couldn't go.
Craig Carton (1:52)
Just sitting there, eating oysters, by yourself.
SPEAKER_3 (1:55)
Yeah, I've done it.
Craig Carton (1:55)
Thinking about how the Jets are mistreated in this town.
SPEAKER_3 (1:59)
That's what I do. That's just...
Craig Carton (2:01)
I'll take six more oysters.
Chris McMonigle (2:04)
But the Jets are really getting screwed these days.
Craig Carton (2:05)
More horseradish, please. Yes.
Chris McMonigle (2:07)
Yes. By the way, I'm a champagne mignonette guy. It's the bougiest thing I like in life.
I go horseradish. I like it. Ketchup, horseradish, cocktail sauce, whatever. But I like the little onion-based mignonette. Okay. I'm all about that. I go hot sauce, but it's a waste for me. Anyhow, the New York Jets are in it. The New York Jets are in it. And if the damn Rams could have beaten the Bills last night and God knows, Thicker the Kicker, who's now been released, makes the kick last night, doesn't get that kick blocked, we are talking about a whole different scenario for the AFC East as well.
SPEAKER_3 (2:41)
Yeah.
Chris McMonigle (2:41)
Would have brought the Bills right back to the pack. And again, it's a crazy, stupid dream.
SPEAKER_3 (2:46)
Yeah.
Chris McMonigle (2:47)
But as long as you can have that dream, that's the beauty of being a sports fan. So, I want to have that dream.
Craig Carton (2:53)
Dream another week.
Chris McMonigle (2:54)
Well, if...
Craig Carton (2:55)
And you want to applaud them for it.
SPEAKER_3 (2:56)
And I did. Yes, I do. And I did.
Chris McMonigle (2:57)
That's how bad it's been.
Craig Carton (2:59)
I hear you.
Chris McMonigle (2:59)
Like small steps.
SPEAKER_3 (3:00)
I hear you.
Chris McMonigle (3:01)
I'm a small step guy. I believe in small steps, but play this out. If the Bills lose last night, and the Rams should have won the game, right?
