Two o'clock, straight up!

It's The Carton Show with Big Mac on a beautiful Monday afternoon in New York City. Phone number to join, as always, 888-808-119. Got a great show for you today. As the New York Giants show their true colors, and now we've got a little Cam Skattebo gig going on between the fans, the press, the media, the coach, the player, lots cookin there after an embarrassingly bad defensive performance by the New York Giants, but maybe, oh maybe, maybe, oh maybe, a little glimmer of hope when it comes to the second half quarterback play. And then, of course, the New York Jets cannot get out of their own way, cannot be anything other than the New York Jets or Paltons yet again with garbage coaching from Aaron Glenn and worse coordinating from old man Frank Reich, who I told you day one, was not the answer to this offense.

Chris McMonigle (1:00)

He really does love those shotguns on short yardage.

Craig Carton (1:02)

Good afternoon, Big Mac, how are you?

Chris McMonigle (1:04)

I'm doing well, Craig.

Craig Carton (1:05)

Okay, third and one, a memo to Frank Reich, you moron. I don't care about the ad-elix that you brought to the table three weeks ago. It didn't work.

Chris McMonigle (1:14)

Yeah.

Craig Carton (1:14)

It didn't work against the Green Bay Packers and it didn't work yesterday either. Why in the world do you continue to run the ball starting eight yards behind a lot of the other teammates to gain one yard? And you're not consecutive possessions. Come on, man.

Chris McMonigle (1:33)

It's not going great after Sunday. No, it's not.

Craig Carton (1:35)

And yet, every time you throw the ball to Garrett Wilson, good things happen. Oh, fancy that. Frank Reich sucks as offensive coordinator and Aaron Glenn stinks as the head coach of the New York Jets. And it just kills me because the New England Patriots are missing their starting offensive line. And by late in the third quarter, it seemed like they're missing their entire backup offensive line. And Aaron Glenn, who told us quite famously a few months ago, that Kahn defenses, I think he said this.

Okay, that's great. Play Kahn is my superpower.

Decided not to blitz at all. Decided on a very important third and 13 to bring zero pressure on Drake May. Third and seven, zero pressure on Drake May. And after getting within a touchdown, your guy, Aaron Glenn, allows a seven-minute drive effectively to end the game, and now the New York Jets are two and four.

Chris McMonigle (2:33)

Cory Keiner.

Craig Carton (2:34)

Who? Who the heck is that?

Chris McMonigle (2:36)

Eight consecutive running plays from him down the throat of the New York Jets team. And that's the thing with me with this defense. And it goes back a while, you know, past Glenn.

Even when they're good, even when Salahadam top five this year, top five defense, in the biggest moments, man, you win the game beating the New York Jets defense over and over and over again. And they could not get a stop. And Cory Keiner running it down their throat at the end of the game is exemplary of what the Jets are.

Craig Carton (3:04)

Yep.

Chris McMonigle (3:05)

That's exactly who they are. They get big turnovers. I thought that would be important in this game. It's not enough. They get two big turnovers.

They get a touchdown taken back on the first drive. Which by the way, I'm not blaming the rest of the game.

Craig Carton (3:18)

That's a horrendous call on the Cooper touchdown that gets called back. You're like, come on, what are we talking about?

Chris McMonigle (3:25)

That has no impact on the play.

Craig Carton (3:26)

That didn't touch anybody, you knuckleheads. But I'm not blaming that. That's not why we lost the game.

Chris McMonigle (3:31)

No, absolutely not.

Craig Carton (3:32)

We lost the game because once again, we have an offensive coordinator that can't call an offense. We've got talent all over the place, they keep telling me. And I think they're right. Cooper's very good. Sadiq's very good. G5's obviously a rock star. He's got 17 freaking tight ends on this team.

Chris McMonigle (3:48)

And it's not even that Gino's playing poorly.

Craig Carton (3:50)

No.

Chris McMonigle (3:50)

Gino's playing fine.

Craig Carton (3:52)

He's afraid to take chances.

Chris McMonigle (3:53)

Yes, he is.

Craig Carton (3:55)

That being said, obviously, the interception is first of the year. Gino Smith is not the cause or reason why the New York Jets are 2 and 4

Frank Reich is. Aaron Glenn is.
