Carton Show, Big Mac, great to have you here.
All good. In the hood, as they say, 888-808-1019.
So I got a call last week from the New York Jets, friend of mine works over there, and said they have these brand new hoodies that they came in, that they're really proud of, great new soft material and all that stuff. And I said, look, I'm going to send a package over to you so that you and Pete Hoffman, the two Jets fans on the show, we want you guys to have these brand new hoodies. So I'm like, it's really generous of you, I appreciate it, no worries. So the note was, listen, we're sending a package, one package to the entire station, and we're going to just write down in each bag who the hoodie is for. Again, I had no expectations, this was out of the blue, but I was obviously grateful, we'll rock the hoodie for sure. So when my friend of the Jets said, here's what we did, we sent a box to Boomer's attention, and we labeled inside the box, this hoodie is for Craig, this hoodie is for Pete, this hoodie is for whomever. So I assume they send hoodies for other guys that are Jet fans at the station as well. So I thought nothing of it, I kind of forgot about it, and then I get a text today from my friend over at the Jets, saying, by the way, what did you think of the hoodie? And I said, I didn't get the hoodie. He goes, no, no, we confirmed the delivery, and I'm pretty sure Boomer was talking about the hoodies on the show this week, and it was today or yesterday.
Did you like it? And I said, well, Boomer must have kept the hoodies for himself, because I don't have a hoodie, and neither does Pete Hoffman. So we went back and we checked out the tape. I guess Boomer decided that he was going to be Santa Claus today, and took the hoodies that were sent here for me and for Pete Hoffman, and decided instead to steal them and to give them to other random people as if he was being gracious and generous, like he went to the store and bought jet hoodies and was giving them out to jet fans here in the building. So memo to those people, even if you don't know the crime has been committed, you're now a partner to that crime because you've received stolen goods, right? That and ignorance is no defense under the law. So I'm giving Boomer to Monday to right the wrong here.
Chris McMonigle (2:48)
I'm putting a deadline on it.
Craig Carton (2:49)
He knew the hoodies were meant for me and Pete. They had our names on it. He was told those two hoodies for me and Pete.
If Pete and I do not have our hoodies unworn in the bag they were sent to him in by Monday at 2 o'clock, there will be an appropriate response, okay?
Chris McMonigle (3:10)
I think that's fair.
Craig Carton (3:11)
And I think that's fair as well.
Chris McMonigle (3:12)
So for those of you that did get... He just willfully gave out your stuff.
Craig Carton (3:15)
Yeah, now I want to be clear. For those of you that were given New York jet hoodies, as if Boomer bought them for you and said, look, out of the kindness of my heart, I acquired some jet hoodies, I thought you guys would enjoy them, you are in receipt of stolen property and will be prosecuted to the extent of the law.
And I tried to put that out there because, you know, when people do nice things for us or for anybody, and there's an expectation of, hey, I really wanted Craig or Pete to have this hoodie.
Chris McMonigle (3:48)
How do you think the Jets feel right now?
Craig Carton (3:49)
And then I'm in a weird spot like, I'm sorry, New York Jets, we never received the package you sent for us because Boomer stole it. And instead of doing the right thing and leaving it on my desk or even in his office, which I entered today, all right, opened up his office today and looked through his stuff to see if the hoodie was left there with my name on it, there were no hoodies there.
