Answers, you and I were at the Monday press conference. There were some strange things to say. It was a weird press conference where questions were asked, answers were given, rambling answers were given.
I would say that Golesh and Gordon combined came off very perplexed at what to do, and how to fix it. I asked Joel Gordon about how do you correct, or how do you coach Byrum up?
He came into the bi-week leading the FBS in interceptions. He said something that I think at least lets me know that they understand that there's an issue with Byrum Brown. He said, some of it's decision making, and some of it is past protection, he's getting hit, but you still have to make good decisions while you're being hit. And I like that he at least said that. But there's not a lot of things you can do at this point in the season, other than change personnel in spots to elicit some kind of change. Is the answer, are the answers on this 20, 20, 60 version of this roster, do you think?

I think you and I talked about this a little bit last week, Mike, I gave the car analogy.
Your car is messed up, you got a problem, you pop the hood, you identify the problem. Now, identifying the problem and fixing the problem are two totally different things. Do you have the materials, the parts to fix? And that's been my concern because Alex Golesh said multiple times when he's been asked, we've got the guys, these are the right guys. And, you know, he's doubled down on it. So, you take a man at his word, that's all you can do. But as every week moves along, the eyes tell you something different. And I'm going to be honest with you, and I talked about it before we came on the air. I was a little concerned walking out of that press conference. Coming off of bi-week, you didn't have anything last week.
You had all week to prepare for that. You knew some of the issues that you were going to be asked about going into this Georgia game, and some of the stuff obviously with personnel, with X and all that, and it just kind of looked unprepared. I'm just going to be honest. You talked about your question to Joel Gordon, and you had one for Coach Golesh, too. I asked Coach Golesh about the offensive line and the pre-snap penalties because he made that a point to talk about and how bad it was, and he never really gave me an answer on what they did to work on that. I asked specifically, what did y'all do this week to work on not having that become an issue when you go on the road again, and it was like, we've got to evaluate what we're doing and why it didn't translate, and it just kind of was a ring around the rosy answer. And again, I'm not, I like Coach Golesh, I'm not trying to take shots, but he said a lot to not say much, and he did that multiple times. It was kind of befuddling because he's really been very thorough with us and really doesn't run away from questions. He answers questions and it just didn't have the same feel for whatever reason.
