All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to CAGcast episode number 851 I'm your host, CheapyD, here on Long Island, New York. And as always, we're joined by a man who shouldn't be the next Green Lantern, Wombat.
Wombat (0:47)
See, that is a more accurate statement.
CheapyD (0:49)
See, I mixed it up. Not a lot of people can hear.
Wombat (0:52)
I like it, because I should definitely not be Green Lantern.
CheapyD (0:55)
He's very, he's too afraid.
Wombat (0:58)
I'm too timid.
CheapyD (0:59)
He's mostly fear. Is there a guy in the Green Lantern universe who's just like afraid of everything, and he's got like some different color ring?
Wombat (1:05)
What about the Yellow Rings are?
CheapyD (1:07)
They're not afraid. The people aren't afraid.
Wombat (1:10)
No, they control fear. I mean, Poweraxe is like the embodiment of fear.
CheapyD (1:15)
But he should be also be afraid of things, I think.
Wombat (1:17)
Maybe. I guess. I don't know.
There's a squirrel, Green Lantern.
Shipwreck (1:22)
Like if Scooby-Doo and Shaggy became Lanterns?
CheapyD (1:25)
Yes. They would be really powerful, because they know all about fear.
You know what I'm saying?
Wombat (1:31)
It's like the opposite.
Shipwreck (1:32)
I'm sure that's happened in a comic. Has that not happened in a comic?
Wombat (1:36)
I mean, there's been some weird Scooby-Doo stuff.
There was that gritty reboot of Scooby-Doo comic. Remember that? I do remember that. Yeah, it was not a thing.
Shipwreck (1:50)
What happened in that?
CheapyD (1:51)
What made it gritty?
Sex? Drugs?
Wombat (1:54)
It was like, yeah, it was like realistic.
CheapyD (1:57)
Okay.
Wombat (1:57)
We didn't talk and yeah. It was like a whole thing.
CheapyD (2:01)
Shaggy was just smoking weed the whole time, just in the, just watched him.
Wombat (2:05)
It wasn't played for laughs. It was like a real mystery to solve. It was, yeah, it was dumb.
CheapyD (2:11)
It lived in the van and smelled.
Wombat (2:13)
Not as bad as the Velma cartoon, but pretty bad.
CheapyD (2:17)
Okay.
Wombat (2:18)
All right. That was really bad.
CheapyD (2:20)
Fair. Well, we're going to talk about Lanterns later, because obviously we watched the whole season of that, except Shipwreck didn't.
Shipwreck (2:28)
I did not.
CheapyD (2:28)
He's not interested in Green Lanterns.
Shipwreck (2:32)
Very, very little interest in Green Lanterns.
CheapyD (2:34)
In DC, in DC in general.
Shipwreck (2:37)
Man only has so much time and patience.
CheapyD (2:41)
Lanterns was good.
Shipwreck (2:42)
I'm sure, I probably would like it, maybe. Maybe.
CheapyD (2:45)
I can't even say that you would. All right, we'll talk about that later. Do you want to talk about pickleball?
Wombat (2:52)
I mean, you're going to.
CheapyD (2:53)
I'm just going to say that I think I can't play pickleball because like it keeps hurting me.
It's trying to kill me. I'm not hurt per se, but like my arm was hurt for like a week, and my foot, the bottom of my foot is getting sore. I think I had the wrong shoes, so I bought tennis shoes and I'm not playing this week.
Shipwreck (3:14)
Do they not make pickleball shoes yet? They have to.
CheapyD (3:16)
The same shit as tennis shoes. Yeah, but they probably cost more.
Wombat (3:20)
This way, yeah, they could charge an extra 20 bucks for shoes that say Pickle Pro on the side.
CheapyD (3:25)
Yeah, I'm not interested in that. I'd rather just get Nike version. And I just asked Chad GBT what to do, and they told me what to do.
It said I had some thing on my foot, no, on the bottom of my foot.
Wombat (3:37)
Plantar prishitis?
CheapyD (3:38)
No, it wasn't that. I forgot what it was called, but it was basically from pushing off.
Because it doesn't hurt when I'm running on a treadmill. I could run three miles on a treadmill, and it doesn't hurt. But if I walk, if I play pickleball, it hurts. Because it's a harder surface, and you're pushing off on the front of your foot. Does that make sense, Chip? The treadmill is so bouncy and soft.
Shipwreck (4:00)
Yeah, it's a different, yeah.
CheapyD (4:02)
It's like you're just bouncing from, it's more about you're- It's not even running.
Shipwreck (4:07)
You're doing something else on a treadmill. It's not running.
CheapyD (4:09)
I agree.
Wombat (4:10)
Hopefully, the next time we do a show, I'll have a shiny new treadmill. Are you getting a treadmill?
We are being gifted a treadmill from one of our neighbors who is getting rid of their treadmill. It was their son's treadmill and their son moved out. And they're like, we don't want this thing in our house anymore. So if you want it, it's yours.
