When you look at the top of the conference, Alabama, Texas, Georgia, One of the things that those teams have in common is they're home growing their quarterbacks.

For the most part. Guys, come in young. They develop in the system, they take over, and then the next guy takes over, and the next guy takes over. Byrum Brown was supposed to. Give you. Some runway to start that process. Where he was supposed to set a safe floor for you offensively, so that you could... not go out and win the SEC in year one.

And earlier when you were kind of talking about what's an acceptable season for Auburn in year one, again, that needle has moved because of the portal and because you have more control over who your guys are than you've ever had. You can go out and you can get guys. There are not a lot of restrictions that coaches can put on where players transfer anymore. You remember, I mean, it was a whole dictatorship. Years ago, where they could say, hey, we'll release you from your LOI, but you can't go to another SEC school. Or if you go to another power five school, you had to sit out a year. Well, although it's five for five, all that is done.

You can go wherever you want, whenever you want. And if you're a school, you can take just about whoever you want, whenever you want. They gave you $30 million and you decided that the best course of action for year one was to bring Byrum Brown in here.

He is making reportedly north of three million in the area of 3.5 this year. Quarterbacks who are being paid commensurately that came from an American type level. One that he played against last year, Drew Mestemaker at Oklahoma State. Drew has thrown for 300 yards in every game he's played this year, except for one where he threw for like 296
