I'm here with my good friend, Christian Rau from the Auburn Daily. And we're talking a little Auburn football here to get your Thursday started. On today's show, we're going to make predictions for this game. But we're going to start with Byrum Brown and his arm. Could it be the X Factor for Auburn in this one? Turn on automatic downloads. It helps us a ton. Christian, let's start at the top. Byrum Brown, all eyes will be on him and his SEC opener. I think his arm has been dangerous enough through the first two weeks. 74% completion percentage. There were a lot of our listeners that felt like the three interceptions kind of negated the fact that he completed 74% of his passes.

I didn't feel that way. I'm looking for accuracy.

Because the interceptions I saw, they look like correctable mistakes. There are things that you can go to the tape and correct. However, what did concern me was how effective Baylor was at slowing his legs down. I think Florida has the horses to maybe try to pull off something similar defensively. It's going to come down to whether Byrum Brown can make them back off with his arm. With what you've seen through the first couple of weeks here with Byrum Brown, is his arm the real threat to SEC defenses?

Christian Rau (4:18)

Real threat? I'd say no, but I think it's the real way to attack him, excuse me, as we're trying to find our wordings this morning. Yeah, I think it's the real way to attack him. I think Baylor tried to get that blueprint for the rest of the SEC as they tried to shut down Auburn's running game and did so kind of successfully, and made Byrum Brown throw and see if he'll make mistakes, and he did to a degree. Now, again, Alex Golish went out and said that some of them were him forcing it, and then there was some that were obviously at the fault of Byrum Brown. Like that third interception, that one can't happen. But some of the other ones you think are fixable, and I agree with you on that. If we also were dealing with a completely different offensive line in that first game of the season, it seems like some of those adjustments have been made after Southern Miss. I think that's what they're going to try and do.
