Jakob Sanderson, I'm your host, Thomas Tipple. Ryan Heath can't join us this week. He's busy with the everything report. Be on the lookout for that at fantasypoints.com. But Jakob, that doesn't mean we don't have a ton to talk about. You and I were talking in the DMs yesterday as we were trying to put this show together in a way that was best for our viewers and our listeners and loyal subscribers. And I was having a hard time really digesting this rookie class. I was very disappointed. And I think it was simply because I'm so down on this class. I was blinded a little bit by some of the performances in what was, I believe, the highest scoring week one ever. Maybe I think we were a field goal away. I think the Courtesy Neal, I think Ryan Paganetti said the Courtesy Neal by Kansas City removed us from the record.

Yeah, we did 42 going into Monday night, and I guess they got 41 That's right.

The Neal removed it. But with such a high scoring week one, I really expected more rookie performances that really popped off. And we're going to talk about a few performances that stood out, some that we might be fading a little bit situationally. But there's a little more juice than I thought initially. I'm excited to dive into this. I wanted to first kind of ask you, though, how do you go through these performances and not overreact? Because I want to overreact to a couple. You know, maybe I'm underreacting to a few. But how do you just digest week one for Dynasty managers that might be ready to pull some triggers too quickly?

Well, it depends on which direction, I guess we're talking about overreacting. I think it's really easy to not overreact to uninspiring rookie box scores.

To that extent, I posted in our chat last night, just everyone who's currently going in the first round, or I guess not currently, but everyone who went in the first round of redraft leagues this year, and what their week one looked like. I mean, obviously, this is a massive combination of players from all different draft capitals and situations, but I just thought it was a fun thing to look at. Like, Jameer Gibbs was a first round pick who played about 25% of the snaps behind David Montgomery. Bijan was in a committee with Tyler Algier, much like another rookie was just at a committee with Tyler Algier.

You know, Jamar Chase, Puka Dekua, immediately awesome. They were like top five wide receivers from day one. JSN had three catches for 13 yards in his first game. Amonra St. Brown was a fourth round pick who I don't think played at all or barely did. CMC had like a very Jeremiah Love-ish, like RB2 week in a committee with Jonathan Stewart. Jonathan Taylor was a total backup. He then became a starter of that game after Marlon Mack tore his Achilles. And soon after would get benched again for Jordan Wilkins and Naeem Hines. James Cook was a third stringer who effectively didn't play. Lamb had like five catches. Cool. Jefferson did nothing. H. Anne was a healthy scratch. Those are your 12 guys. So like most of the people who are the consensus superstars in the NFL today, did absolutely nothing or a little bit more than nothing in their first ever NFL game.
