Well, welcome back to the show, everyone. I'm Stephen Sakach here again with my co-host Tullio Siragusa, who's still chewing food, I can see. And we've got our special guest who we'll introduce in a second. So community has become one of the most valuable assets a business can build. And according to HubSpot, 76% of brands say that building community improves customer retention and long-term engagement. At the same time, many organizations are producing more content than ever before, yet still struggling to create meaningful connection. So today, we are exploring the difference between content and community and what it takes to build relationships that actually drive business growth. Tullio, introduce our special guest today.
**Tullio Siragusa** (1:05)
Yes, I'm so looking forward to this topic today. And our guest today is Vince Quinn. He's the founder of SBX Production. Vince is a podcast strategist and former national radio host who spent nearly a decade in sports radio, including producing for one of Philadelphia's highest rated morning show at 94 Whip, and hosting the Vince Quinn Show on CBS Sports Radio, syndicated across more than 225 affiliates stationed in the US and Canada. He later transitioned into Intreprenuership, building SBX Production into a full service podcast production and strategy agency that helps businesses turn content into clients. Through his work, Vince focuses on helping coaches, consultants and business owners create podcasts that strengthen relationships, deepen community and drive measurable results. Vince, welcome to The Bliss Business Podcast. Looking forward to our conversation today with you.
**Vince Quinn** (2:07)
Yeah, guys, thanks for having me. I'm happy to be here. It's going to be fun.
**Stephen Sakach** (2:10)
This is going to be a fun one. Vince, you've got that traditional media background and now you're involved in podcasts and business strategy. From your perspective, what is the difference between creating content and then actually building a community?
**Vince Quinn** (2:25)
Yeah, it really comes down to intent. A lot of times, I think when people are making content, they look at it from the standpoint of, how can they get people to pay attention to me?
I need people to be a fan of mine, subscribe to all of my stuff and download the Lead Magnet and all those business things that they're looking for. And everything is belligerently trying to drive those goals. And you can feel it. When the way that people talk, the kinds of conversation that they're having, you can sense it when you listen to enough shows. But the community aspect of it is, what is this thing that's beyond me and beyond this business that we're part of? We're connected to it, but there's other businesses, there's other people that have a same similar shared goal, a similar thing, problem they're dealing with. And how do we have good conversations about that through the content? So instead of building audience where it is, again, like, hey, everybody look at me and we're so great and we know everything. It's more, how are we doing this together? And what are ways we can work together? And how can we learn from each other? And how can we just build something bigger, greater and better together?
**Stephen Sakach** (3:30)
Yeah, you know, that word you said, like, you feel it when you hear it. Is that when I think of that, I think of it, it just sounds like transactional, right? Is that kind of what you're talking about?
**Vince Quinn** (3:40)
Yeah, yeah. It's like, hey, please finish stopping talking so I can talk and tell you about how, you know, like, there's just something to it. And it is clear. I mean, the easiest way that I've been able to describe this is sometimes like, I don't know if you ever do this where you listen to the radio and there's a song that comes on, you're playing something on Spotify song comes on, and you just inherently, as soon as it comes on, you change it. It's like three seconds in, you're just like, I don't like the song. You never heard it before, maybe, but you're just three seconds in, you're like, nah. And I think people get that same kind of feeling when it comes to all this other content, right? You consume so many different things that you just inherently build up this sensibility of like, what's really going on here. And even if you can't put words to it, you can feel it and people know.
**Stephen Sakach** (4:22)
Yeah, I think. And on the marketing side, like, this is the most marketed to generation ever, right? We're just getting hit by it constantly. So I think, yeah, like you said, there's probably this, we just have this sense now, within a few seconds sometimes that you can just really feel it.
