All righty, folks, I have an important question for the three amigos, because, hey, I am working on my third book. We are in the very early stages of outline brainstorming, throwing everything against the wall, and I wanna talk to Matt and Dion. Really ask them simple questions to see where their mind goes, see if I'm on the right track. Guys, thanks as always for being a sounding board, giving me constructive feedback and some hard to hear things when appropriate. Are you guys ready for this?
Of course. All right, so I have already created and bought the website, The Everyday Wealth Builder. So guess what the title of the book is gonna be? The Everyday Wealth Builder. Strong guess. Strong guess. But I think one of the reasons I like that is because we need to define it.
We need to define what is an everyday wealth builder. We need to define how to become an everyday wealth builder, how to check yourself, you know, all of these things. And I just wanna start from the very beginning with you guys, and when I say the everyday wealth builder, what jumps out at you, Matt? You joined first, so we'll go to you first. What's the first thing that hits you when you hear me say the everyday wealth builder? And be as harsh or, you know, whatever you want.
**Matt** (1:10)
Sure. The thing that jumps out to me is very often people are overwhelmed. Everybody would like to be wealthy.
Nobody wants to do what it takes, very few want to do what it takes to get wealthy.
The road to success or the road to to wealthy is littered with failures for sure. And I think the thing that always kind of captivates my mind when it comes to that stuff is it's really truly daily discipline like we always talk about. And it's always about steps every day, not giant leaps every day.
And that's the mistake that most people wake and make in trying to get wealthy. There's a lot of guys that get wealthy really fast, and they usually end up on SEC violations and end up serving jail time. Like the guys on Goliath. Like how many times have we heard about these scams? And even not scams, but people that are real investment people, and the investment goes flat or dead, especially in real estate, like how many blow ups have we seen? And why are people blowing up in those deals? It's because that was the easy way. The easy way was just sending your money off, and having somebody else steward it and take care of it, and hopefully it makes you wealthy. So I believe everyday wealth builders, it's not about putting a little money in a jar every day. Change the money to time and the time to obtaining knowledge, and you will be wealthy faster than you thought you would be. And more importantly, it will be a strong foundation. If you're into the Bible, building on rock or building on sand, pick your choice. But the daily wealth builder, that person to me is someone that has daily discipline, recognizes that they want to get there, that they're willing to take what it takes to get there, and that there's no shortcuts. There's just no shortcuts.
**Michael Zuber** (3:23)
God, I love that, no shortcuts. Okay. How about you, Dion? You always bring the left turns and right turns out. So help me understand when I say it, what hits you?
**Dion** (3:34)
So when you think of the title, The Everyday Wealth Builder, I think, and put it into your own words, but I'd really like to see a section that says, this is how you remove the barriers that stop someone from being consistent.
Because it's doing the work, right? Doing the work every day. Well, if you do the work every day and you make it a habit, you're more likely to do it. But how do you remove the barriers that stop you from making it happen? One is the people who go, okay, I'm going to look five hours on a Saturday, instead of 20 to 30 minutes a day more. I'm going to do it five minutes, six times a day to get my half hour. You never really get in the deep work. So blocking out a time to go, okay, this is my half hour of, I'm going to compare deals, I'm going to study my market, I'm going to put my emails together for my agents, handyman, contractors, or whatever is going to make me doing this. So how do you make less resistance, less friction in doing the work?
