Can you believe it? The day is here. Unbelievable. It is Buffy season five, part two. This is it. We're apexing here.
I cannot believe we're here. It's an incredible time to be alive. Quick programming reminders. In addition to wrapping up this Buffy coverage, we of course doing our ongoing Lanterns coverage. So you can look for those, if we get our ducks in a row every week on Mondays, is the plan. Next week is a very, very special week. It is Mallory Rubin's birthday.
Mallory Rubin (2:48)
For a minute I was like, what are you talking about? I have a debilitating migraine as you know, and Carlos knows, and Jacob knows, and Scott knows, and now everyone knows. But I told you, like the onion that flowers at the bronze, the spike so loves to consume. That is how I will, I think that will be my experience, my transformation while potting about this wonderful half season of TV with you.
But not knowing about my own birthday, not an encouraging start.
Joanna Robinson (3:11)
We're going to celebrate your birthday next week. Yeah.
With what you have branded as Mallory Rubin's pivot to horror. That's right. You're turning a certain age. Turning 40, the big 4-0. You've decided, I'm an adult now, I shall brave horror.
Mallory Rubin (3:30)
I feel like I am just missing out on a few big things recently that everybody has gotten to share together. So I just wanted to dip my toe. I'm not going to force myself to explore certain horror films that I know are just not for me. I'm going to ease in. I'm going to do it in a way that makes sense.
Joanna Robinson (3:46)
You've already watched a couple.
Mallory Rubin (3:47)
But because I really want to see Resident Evil.
Joanna Robinson (3:50)
Yes.
Mallory Rubin (3:50)
It made both of our fall height meters. We talked about it. I want to pod about it. I want to see it with you. I want to watch it from probably your lap.
Joanna Robinson (3:57)
Okay.
Mallory Rubin (3:58)
We haven't officially committed to that.
Joanna Robinson (4:01)
In my lap, your head tucked into my neck. We will be seeing it together.
Mallory Rubin (4:04)
So I think that's probably how it's going to go.
Joanna Robinson (4:07)
And in order to a box of chicken tenders and watermelon sour patch kids clutched in your hand.
Mallory Rubin (4:15)
I don't know if it will be a...
Joanna Robinson (4:16)
No emotional support tenders?
Mallory Rubin (4:17)
Well, is it a movie that I'm going to want to eat during?
Joanna Robinson (4:21)
I don't know.
Mallory Rubin (4:23)
I don't know. That's what I do love a tendy at the theater as you know. But in order to get ready for Resident Evil because it's such a big moment, I thought, okay, let me some immersion therapy.
Let's prep.
Joanna Robinson (4:36)
I kind of feel like Buffy might have loosened the jar for you a little bit.
Mallory Rubin (4:39)
A lot of the stuff we've done recently, I feel like, I can't remember any of them now.
