This is Undaunted.Life A Man's Podcast. I'm your host, Kyle Thompson. Let's get into it. All right, guys, we've got a special guest on the podcast today. His name is Buddy Brown. So he is a country music singer and a YouTuber. He has over a million subscribers on YouTube. We just had an absolute ball today, because one of the things that's interesting about him is he had a lot of success kind of in that natural kind of Nashville music scene, but pretty early on, you know, well before COVID, I think said 2015, he got out of that world, right? And he just wanted to make music and make content that would glorify the Lord. And he knew he wasn't going to be able to do that if he was chasing tours and, you know, platinum records and stuff like that in Nashville. And in this podcast, we talked a lot about kind of why he did that, how he even got into music to begin with, kind of when he got his first big break. But then we talked a lot about what Nashville is. And so a lot of people look at Nashville and they love the country music and the boots and the cowboy hats and all that. But there's some darkness. There's some extreme darkness in that city. There's darkness in that genre of music, even though it's covered in red dirt and wrapped in the American flag. And so we get into all that. We talk about him transitioning his content to have not only more of a faith message, but also he's getting into cultural topics. He's getting into social topics and he's getting into politics, right? And so on this show, Faith, Culture, Politics, that's what we cover. Not always in that order, not always a third, a third and a third. But we talked about his reason for doing that.
We talked about some of the issues that you have, like while you're raising children, trying to protect them from negative influences. But at the same time, you want them putting stuff into their minds and into their souls that is going to lead to positive things coming out. And then at the end, we started talking about a children's book that he just wrote with Brave Books. So you're going to have to check that out. All that's going to be in the show notes. And then also we got his country music, Mount Rushmore, right? So every time I bring someone on that does something like that, I always try to put them in that type of a deal. Well, hey, it's not attitude in a bad way for all you slappies out there that don't know what we're talking about. Because we, because here's the thing about Oakey's, we're kind of a team without a flag because we're not technically in the South, right? We're not technically in the Midwest and we're not technically in the Southwest. We are in our own area. This place is chaos here, but we do our best to make it work. But hey, one of the reasons why you've got a profile while you do what you do is because of music. So not only the music that you've made, but just in general, your love of music. So if we got to start somewhere generically, let's start there. So where did your love of music come from? And then how did you specifically get into making it?
