Look, Bo Nix hasn't played well in week one, but he always turns it around. First, the Tennessee Titans last year, 24 for 40, 176, 1 TD, 2 interceptions.
Week one versus Seahawks in 2024, 138, zero touchdowns, 2 interceptions. So he does rebound. You want things to start better, but he's rebounded before. And so if we're just looking at the data and we're looking at the history, Bo will turn this around. And so look, expectations, communicated or not, is root of all conflict. And we were expecting a dub.

Dave Logan (1:20)
How are you going to open this?
I thought about that driving down here. I like it. Wow.
Bennie Fowler (1:25)
Man.
Really, really interesting game for you, sir, to call. Well, let's just, I want to dive into the atmosphere first because it looked electric there.
Dave Logan (1:35)
Yeah.
Bennie Fowler (1:35)
What was it like in Arrowhead? Yeah, it was loud.
Dave Logan (1:38)
I mean, it's always, I think that's one of the great venues, one of the great home field advantages. And they were excited. It was the opener. It was a Monday night opener. It was a Monday night opener that Patrick Mahomes is coming back after ACL and LCL surgery nine months ago.
So, you know, the atmosphere was just like you anticipated and it did not disappoint in that regard.
Bennie Fowler (2:05)
Yeah. Well, we're going to break it all down. I want to start the show today because I think you respect Louis Riddick. I respect Louis Riddick as well. So I want to read this tweet for all of Broncos Country right now. It's been one week of the NFL regular season. One, every year players and coaches talk about the evolution of their teams through the first month of the season and how it always.
It's always wise to pause on making definitive judgments on what a player or team will ultimately become. Yet here we are doing just that. Everybody's overreacting. Everybody's losing their mind. So let's calm down.
Look, it's one week. You did not want the season to start like that. But by no means is the season over. Everything is going to be just fine. So we're going to break down, you know, what what what went wrong against Kansas City? What happened to Denver's receivers?
Jacksonville coming in here next week and then the keys to victory. So, Dave, let's just start, man. What what what happened last night?
Dave Logan (3:03)
Yeah, I look at it a little bit differently than Lewis. And Lewis was a good player and know him a little bit. He's a very smart guy. Football savvy guy. I think two things can be true. So I don't think after one game, people should overreact, certainly in terms of what we've got to make significant changes here, here, here and here. You thought you had a good team going in. You were pretty convinced you had a good team.
But I also think it's OK for people to be pissed. And it's not, it's not just disappointed. You know, you're disappointed when, like a couple of years ago, Will Lutz has a 35-yard field goal blocked at the gun to win the game. I mean, that's a game they should have won, 35-yard field goal. You're disappointed that they were able to block it. I mean, last night's game was so atypical.
It was just unlike what we've seen from this group of Broncos players. And I think there's plenty of, you know, things to get fixed, to iron out, what have you. But I think the one thing that I would say about the NFL that you could say every single year, NFL players are prideful.
What NFL guys do not like is to get embarrassed in any shape or form. To get called out, to drop a ball, to have, you know, they just, they're not, they don't do well with that. So that was an embarrassing performance last night. And I would think, and I think the Broncos are made of the right stuff. And so I, what I think, they will bounce back, they're playing a really good team, they're not assured of winning, but I think they'll bounce back and find a way to win. And once you get, yet last night's game out of your mouth, which will take this entire week and then Sunday against Jacksonville, you're just gonna have to deal with it.
