Hey Bold American Listeners, you can find us every Tuesday on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube. Prime members can listen ad free on Amazon Music. All right, welcome back to a brand new episode of the Bold American Podcast, presented by Barstool Sports. I have two, count them, one, two great interviews today with Lacrosse stars, Brigid Duffy and Sean Byrne of the PLL and WLL.
They are just excellent human beings. Oh, by the way, they're both West Point graduates. So maybe that has something to do with their success, the fact that they're both awesome people. And I really enjoyed getting a chance to chat with both of them. So you're going to hear two awesome conversations with Brigid and Sean coming up. I am solo today. Ryan is firmly in golf outing season, which I'm jealous of, but part of her responsibilities at TMF is to attend these golf outings and raise money for her organization. By the way, I was just thinking about this. Whoever decided, whenever that was along the way, that golf outings are a great way to raise money for organizations, charities. I applaud you. Okay. It's a great way to spend a Monday. It is a great way to have a good time playing golf, because more often than not, it's a scrambled, so it's not overly serious. And everybody has the same, you know, long drive, putting contest, close to the pin type stuff, super laid back. And it's just a great way to raise money. And then obviously people are able to enjoy themselves, maybe imbibe a little bit, silent auctions. And long story short, a lot of money gets raised for organizations. And I am fortunate enough to get invited to outings, as are many of folks. And a lot of us have outings that are on their calendar yearly. So shout out to TMF and to Ryan down at one of the Robert Trent Jones courses, which she sent us a picture today. It looks gorgeous.
So no, Ryan is doing that. And she's not skipping the show because Navy lost to Air Force this weekend in the first leg of the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy Race for this season. Air Force beat Navy 14-9.
They just had an announcement though, the Air Force football program, that their starting quarterback got injured. I was mostly watching the game, a lot of it on my phone. I was in the middle of three different birthday parties, fall parties this past weekend. So I wasn't plopped down in front of the television the entire afternoon. And I didn't see the injury. And they're being tight lipped, they're being vague as are anybody who is talking about an injury to their arguably best player and starting quarterback. So we'll see what happens with Air Force the rest of the way. But as I said, Air Force beat Navy in a sloppy game, 14-9 final score. But anyway, I want it on record. Brian is not deliberately skipping recording the podcast. So she didn't have to talk about this. She tried telling me both our teams suck. She said that verbatim, both our teams suck. I quickly correct her that Army very much does not suck. Yes, we lost to Louisiana Tech this past weekend, but there were a lot of good things that came out of that game. And I will say, and I put this out on social media, but Army is very, very close to playing very well. The mistakes we're making right now are a lot of mental mistakes, and that is, I don't want to say typical, but it happens from time to time when you have a young team, specifically our defense is young. They're missing tackles, that's not a surprise. Coach even talks about that in our post-game press conference. Not tackling well, guess what? That's not gonna be useful if you're not tackling well. Louisiana Tech had one touchdown run of I think maybe 50 or 70 yards, something super long. We had the dude tackle it in the backfield. Three different Army players had hands on him, and somehow this guy was stopped from one yard in the backfield and turned it into a run. Credit to him. But anyway, Army lost, but nevertheless, I do not think Army and Navy are built the same this year, but we can look at history, and history tells us none of that will matter in December. But anyway, I digress. But Ryan is not here. Rob is traveling, so it is just me. I have a couple of stories that I would like to hit on today that were national news stories, and then also give you a little bit of a peek behind the curtain on something. Before we get to that, Last 72, as I mentioned Saturday, man, we had three different parties to attend all within a two mile radius of our house. Two to three miles, whatever. It was all in the same town, and that was exhausting. Bouncing from party to party, and I'm not saying this like, whoa, look at me, how popular I am. These are friends, these are kids' parties, kids from class, from my kid's school.
