When we had King on the other day, we talked about a time where, and it was against Florida, oddly enough, where the O-line wasn't playing well. And in the middle of that game, Tuberville yanked the whole line and they put in all freshmen.
Mike G (3:32)
I think that was a 2007, I think it was 2007 season that was on the road in Gainesville.
Ike Jones (3:38)
Yeah, right. And he just, they figured something out there because you had this line that came into the season heralded, but they weren't playing well. And he said, you know what? Can't get any worse. Let's just yank everybody. And they played a lot better. That's an oddly bold move.
But certainly, you know, you should be able, who was it that we saw going to the locker room, I, at the end of the half, early at the end of the half from the offensive line, was it Jack Lyer?
B Wil (4:07)
Yeah, it was Lyer, yeah.
Ike Jones (4:08)
Yeah, like we saw him going to the locker room. I don't know if we got an update on what was going on with him, but he was leaving the field early. They've got to find some combination of guys that can go out there and get some push, especially in the run game. This can't continue. This whole thing where Auburn is getting, you know, is not a running football team is not going to work.
Yeah, it's not going to work at all. A hundred yards on the ground at home. That's it.
Mike G (4:44)
I draw ski says, you can't tell me Ellis, Kale Ellis couldn't contribute it on our old line. Skinner was getting chalks straight. Miami Vice outline, shaking my head. I, yeah, I'm eager to watch the film on that one.
B Wil (5:00)
Yeah, I'm like I am. I'm going to pay a lot of attention to this offensive line play because they the what's crazy is, and this is two years in a row that I have been dead wrong about a position group.
Last year, I was like, before the season started, I was like, oh, the defensive backs, our DBs going to eat this year, and they did not look good last year. Coming into this season, I was like, I feel good about the interior offensive line. It's the guys at the tackles that I'm worried about. And it's the exact opposite. The interior offensive line been terrible, and the tackles ain't been great, but I ain't sitting here.
