Lynn (0:10)
This is Unnis on Oppas, a fan podcast where we talk about Korean dramas and other Korean media, especially the leading men of Kdramas, also known as our Kdrama boyfriends, also known as Oppas.
Susie (0:23)
And we are your metaphorical big sisters, aka Unnis. I am Susie.
Lynn (0:29)
And I am Lynn. And even though this is a special bonus episode, we still like to take a moment at the beginning of our episodes to give thanks to someone or something who has made it possible for us to be here today. So Susie, in this episode, to whom would you like to say Jal Meogisseubnida?
Susie (0:47)
I would like to thank Lynn for, again, always being a great partner in this endeavor. For the listeners, I don't know if you've noticed, we've had sort of an irregular posting schedule, not like in frequency, but like in type of episode we've been doing.
I feel like we've just been like disrupted more than once in terms of like, what we can do, what we can like, the homework we can do and being ready to do an episode. And I feel like a lot of it has been like both our travel schedules, but like a lot of it is also like me schedule, particularly have just been out of whack this year. I don't know, more than it has been anyway. I just like feel like it's been crazy. It's just been a little crazy. So, you know, a few times we just had to like change our plans sort of, you know, and we were always very easy going about it. We're just like, no stress. We'll do what we can. We'll do whatever like moves us. And that's always been like such a good philosophy for us. Because this is supposed to be fun and, you know, we'll let you know when it stops being fun. Hopefully not anytime soon.
But yeah, just thank you for like going with the flow. I just feel like I've been all over the place this year and lots of things have happened that are unexpected and I don't know. But thanks for like going with it and also reassuring me who is the biggest fredder in the world that it's fine, that we are doing what we're doing, the way we're doing it. Like whatever we're doing is fine. It's fine. It's fine. It's really fine.
Lynn (2:48)
It is. It is truly fine, Susie.
I mean, this whole thing, we made the rules of it. So if the rules need to be bent or broken, you know.
Susie (3:02)
Yeah.
Lynn (3:02)
We take suggestions, but we don't take directions except from each other. So. Indeed.
You know, I mean, I feel like this calendar year, 2026 life has been particularly lifey for both of us. Like we both have had a number of things come up that, yeah, it's just been a lot. And in the four years we've been doing this podcast, definitely has been the most tumultuous as far as like needing, needing to pivot. But, you know, I mean, I think that that's why we're a good team is because we're both like, ah, whatever.
I would, I mean, this might be a little bit too on the nose for this episode, but I would like to thank the makers of The Village Barber because it's like, I didn't even really realize that I was feeling stress in my body until I started watching it. And it's just like so cathartic, like so nice and relaxing and easy. And, you know, that's why we watched three more episodes of it that we're going to talk about in this episode. Because, man, I mean, there's a reason why it was a huge ratings success and why they're already planning on making a second season of it. Or maybe they already filmed it. I don't know. I don't pay attention to that stuff. But, yeah, it's, you know, great job. Thanks, Village Barber people for bringing these three boys into our lives.
Susie (4:49)
And thanks for, like, casting three excellent, like, specimen of human beings. Because I had, I actually had a friend to stay with me for a couple of days. And I was like, oh, I need to watch this show. It's like in the middle. Do you mind if we, like, have it on while we're, like, working together? I was like, oh, no problem. So I put it on. And she was like, we both, like, repeatedly would look at each other and just go give, like, the mopey face, just like basically saying, that is so sweet. Many, many times during these episodes.
She was like, I can't take this. It's too awesome.
