**Georgia Hardstark** (0:41)
That's us.
**Karen Kilgariff** (0:42)
In this situation.
All right. This one's so hard. The first one's like the hardest question. I can't even imagine answering this. This is from Emily Jane McGuinness. What advice would you give someone turning 30? Give us the 30 era real real.
**Georgia Hardstark** (0:58)
30
**Karen Kilgariff** (0:59)
That's hard.
**Georgia Hardstark** (1:01)
30 I'm almost double that.
So let me think. I think 30 is like, you start to believe you know a bunch of stuff. We may have talked about this before.
**Karen Kilgariff** (1:13)
Yeah.
**Georgia Hardstark** (1:13)
This is my theory on when you're in your 30s.
It's a real setup because you've got through your 20s, right? You know you're a dipshit when you're 18
**Karen Kilgariff** (1:22)
Yes.
**Georgia Hardstark** (1:23)
When you go through your 20s, you get to the end of that and you think, now I know everything. Right. Then you become one of those insufferable people who thinks they know everything. Yeah. You're actually just 30
**Karen Kilgariff** (1:34)
Right.
**Georgia Hardstark** (1:35)
Where you actually start to realize that you don't know anything.
**Karen Kilgariff** (1:38)
Right. You should know things.
**Georgia Hardstark** (1:40)
You should, but you won't till probably your early 40s.
**Karen Kilgariff** (1:45)
Right.
**Georgia Hardstark** (1:45)
You're still as dumb as you were when you were 18, but now you just have a bunch of bills and a shitty job or a great job.
**Karen Kilgariff** (1:52)
You think you're supposed to be doing things with your life, which you don't, you're not.
**Georgia Hardstark** (1:56)
No, it's still too early for all that. Now you're just like solidified some stuff, like now there's ground under your feet.
**Karen Kilgariff** (2:02)
Right.
**Georgia Hardstark** (2:02)
But you still don't know anything.
**Karen Kilgariff** (2:04)
I think my thing would be to not think about yourself in your 30s, think about yourself older, like in your 40s, and where do you want to be then? So everything you're doing in your 30s isn't as important as you think, except for the fact that whatever you're doing, you want it to be so that your 40s person will thank you, because that's the more important part.
**Georgia Hardstark** (2:25)
Perfect advice, yes. It's just like be aiming in the direction of, but know that it isn't one singular path. If you get to the neighborhood of where you want to be, I thought I wanted to be a sitcom actress when I was 24 years old, and I moved here to do that.
Then I went and actually started auditioning for things. I was like, I want no part of any of this. But I sure did run my mouth about all my dreams and whatever. It's like you get to step back and reassess and then go, okay, well, I tried that. It didn't work and or I didn't like it. So now I'm going to start again and do something. Know that your five-year plan has to be broken down and rebuilt every three years.
**Karen Kilgariff** (3:08)
Totally. Don't judge your own life based on everyone else's life, even your best friend, totally different trajectories and it doesn't matter what your trajectory is right now. It's not going to be what you think it is. It's going to be something totally different for everyone, so just relax.
**Georgia Hardstark** (3:23)
And look at yourself from big picture outside of yourself through the eyes of your grandma or someone that really loved you and be nice about it. And remember you could die at any second.
It's true though. Okay. Do you think we did that one?
**Karen Kilgariff** (3:40)
I think so.
**Georgia Hardstark** (3:40)
Okay. Oh, this is hilarious and I relate to it very much. This one's from at little engine that can't even on Instagram.
**Karen Kilgariff** (3:49)
That's good.
**Georgia Hardstark** (3:49)
And they wrote in asking, How do you convince a cantankerous older father to go to the doctor?
**Karen Kilgariff** (3:56)
Oh, I had to do that recently. Did you really? Yeah.
**Georgia Hardstark** (3:59)
What did you do?
**Karen Kilgariff** (3:59)
I said, I'm making you an appointment with this doctor that I have. He's amazing. And I'll meet you there. Yes, because I knew he wouldn't come if I just told him to. Nice. And then I said, I'll make you the appointment. But he was like, I got it. I got it. And he went. I was really surprised he did. But what about you?
