Again, you look at the first six games, difficult opponents for sure.

But I've made the point, they also, these six opponents have to deal with the Broncos. And that's no picnic. So I like where they are at this time. I think they are a very quietly confident team. And honestly, I think that will show Monday Night.

Bennie Fowler (0:32)

Dave, man, these first couple games have been quite interesting. I think one of the most important things or one of the things that I always continue to learn every single year that's reiterated is that you do not play this game on paper. And the Rams were going to go 20 and and they got beat 27 to 7

Everybody is, and look, I'm not going to down talk Drake May, but look, everybody was excited about them and them getting to the Super Bowl last year. And you saw Seattle lose their quarterback on the fifth play of the game and win with Drew Locke as the backup 13 to 10

Dave Logan (1:37)

So a little surprised the way you said that.

Bennie Fowler (1:39)

You know what? I am a little surprised because he did make some good throws.

Dave Logan (1:42)

He did.

Bennie Fowler (1:43)

And you did.

Steve Atwater (1:44)

He was 16 to 22

Bennie Fowler (1:45)

Yeah, there is no substitute for experience. And you know, it just wasn't the right time for him in Denver. But obviously he's very talented quarterback and made some plays. And I think when you get that experience over time, which he has in this league, he can be a solid backup. And I think Seattle feels really comfortable with him. But week one is here.

Dave Logan (2:01)

So the two games you mentioned, obviously, big fan of Kyle Shanahan and was rooting for San Francisco, but had the Rams won, I think that would have changed how NFL teams went about if they have any more regular season games in Australia, which to me makes zero sense, except financially. I mean, you're putting guys in a plane for whatever it is, 16, 17 hours.

But the fact that the Rams went in about 24 hours before kickoff, there was part of me that was saying, man, I hope they hope San Francisco wins, but I hope the Rams play really well. So then other teams will say, well, maybe that's the way to do it. Instead of going over five days, five days before. And then the Patriot Seahawks game, I was sitting there watching that game and thinking, the second half, as you mentioned, Drake may throws three picks. And you're going to throw picks, but the decisions he made were so bad.

And I thought to myself, if Bo Nix had a half like that, the national media would be killing this dude. Yeah. Right. I mean, I think Drake May is a good player, and I'm not ready to say he won't get better and not be a good. But he made decisions that you just sit and scratch your head like what are you doing? What are you looking at? What are you doing?

Bennie Fowler (3:35)

Unforced interceptions.

Dave Logan (3:36)

Oh, my goodness.

Bennie Fowler (3:36)

One of the great things about Bo Nix is that he doesn't turn the ball.

Dave Logan (3:39)

He doesn't do that.

Bennie Fowler (3:40)

Yeah. He doesn't turn the ball over. And then also the fourth or the pick that he threw, the last pick that he threw, you know, they're in the helmet saying, hey, we have the field goal. We're in field goal range. So throw the ball out of bounds. If you don't like what you see, you do not throw it up. It's not a Hail Mary situation. So it's one of the best things about a Sean Payton coach team is that they are always ready at the end of games and end of game scenarios because of his, the way he educates.

But going back to week one, there's been a lot of talk about this roster, the Broncos being a great roster, but now you got to go out there and play.

Dave Logan (4:14)

Yep.

Bennie Fowler (4:15)

They didn't play the Chiefs until later on in the season last year, but now you're playing the Chiefs week one. Patrick Mahomes coming off the ACL. How do you feel about the game right now in terms of just week one? What's your overall feeling right now?
