Blackrock just put out a report that paints a very bullish picture for AI using crypto and Defi projects like uniswap and aerodrome could be major beneficiaries. In this episode, we look at a scenario and some potential price targets for Uniswap.

Your AI agent made money in an asset. Now, it needs to send USDC to pay for something useful. It needs executable quote and a reliable settlement path, not a phone call. And that movement right there is why decentralized exchange infrastructure could become one of the biggest toll roads in the machine-native economy. Uniswap has a bull case that is very different from TowerNear because it is a token burn pathway that leads to the burning of those tokens using fees. I'm not gonna pretend that that makes Uniswap a dividend stock. It does not. But it does give us a very solid way to build a conditional price model. At our $9 to $10 injury point snapshot we have right now, a hypothetical $1,000 buy of around $100 Uniswap in this first scenario ends up worth $1,600.
But in the stronger scenario, this ends up being worth $6,000.
The lower first number is not a typo, is what happens when you respect the basic math of this market flow. Blackrock talks about stable coins, NATO crypto assets and programmable instruments being the support ways of always on transaction infrastructure. It calls out high frequency, low denomination, machine to machine payments as a potential fit for these rails being built, while making clear the traditional payments infrastructure will still remain important. And here is the real world task. An agent earns Ethereum for service, but its compute vendor accepts USDC. The agent needs a deep market to swap at ETH for USDC at a good price with a reliable execution. Uniswap is a major decentralized exchange protocol that can serve that job easily. Now keep in mind that does not mean the agent has to use Uniswap. Could use a centralized exchange, another decentralized exchange, an aggregator, or a traditional payment route. And it does not need Uniswap in its wallet to make that swap happen. So why does Uniswap even matter? Current governance materials describe protocol fees across multiple chains, token jar accumulation, and a mechanism where fee assets can be claimed by burning Uni.
That means the protocol activity can have a route to reduce the token supply, and governance can change the settings and coverage. It's a mechanism and not a promise. Now our first price target only uses the current eligible volume, not all exchange volume. This is not a made up dividend, and the model assumes that $8 trillion of annual volume is actually eligible for fees. A one basis point effective protocol take, and a 20 times multiple on the annual burn value. $8 trillion times 0.01% equals that $800 million in annual burn value. Times 20 equals $16 billion in economic valuation. This is the hardcore nuts and bolts of the mathematics behind this economic expansion. You take all this into account, you end up with a $16.84 Uniswap token price action. Now, a price target like this needs a lot of things to go right. You need major growth in fee eligible volume, and a fee take that survives all the competition out there, and a market that actually values persistent burns at that rate. It is not a dividend from Blackrock's cloud number, and the Blackrock report supports the agentic commerce backdrop and nothing more.
Blackrock's machine payments thesis is the backdrop for this larger scenario playing out, not the actual volume forecast. Now, price reveal number two is a serious bull case. $20 trillion of eligible annual volume, and a 1.25 basis effective point take, and a 25 times multiple. That brings you to a $2.5 billion annual burn value, times 25 That is a very simply put mechanical way on how you reach that $62.5 value. And for the dollar outcome of an input right now where the market's at, $1,000 at around nine or 10 bucks buys nearly 100 Uniswap. At $16.84, it becomes around $1,600.
But at $62.50, it becomes around $6,000.
The gains are very different. One scenario, you have a gain right at around $630 overholding this thing for a few years, and the other, you're up by $5,000.
Now, of course, these models do not include fees or taxes, all the things that go into it, compounding and staking rewards there within. But what could wreck it? Fee competition can compress the take towards zero. Governance can alter the end of this mechanism, and liquidity can migrate. You have to remember, I've always described crypto as a very migratory pattern, where flocks will move from one spot to the next, depending on fee takes, volume, et cetera. And a massive volume number is meaningless for the Uniswap holders if the volume is not fee eligible. But if AI agents become relentless economic actors, they will need to swap, route, and settle constantly. And the winner will not be the loudest token, it will be the venue with the best liquidity and the clearest path for the protocol activity in the token economics. That is absolutely why Uniswap belongs on this list. And as I said, there are many options that these AI agents can choose along the way as this infrastructure is built. Aerodrome is another option that we're going to be covering next, the same liquidity story, but a radically different token model. The word fees means something very different when the rewards go to locked voters instead of passive spot holders. And if you have a mind's eye for another decentralized exchange or swap protocol that might capture some of this massive economic value incoming, let me know down in the comments what you think it is. Very interested in your take, and I look forward to the next part of this series, this deep dive of this massive Blackrock economic thesis. Till next time, I'll see you on the next one.
