Welcome back to the Daily Crypto Roundup. Bitcoin funds have stopped bleeding for one session, but the completed week still shows almost $679 million leaving. That is the tension behind today's steadier prices. New research shows why smaller coins remain vulnerable. Robinhood Chain's activity is cooling, and a new trading platform promises enormous leverage with a catch. Winning a trade may leave you waiting to collect. At the time of recording, Bitcoin is around $82,900, approximately 0.1% lower over 24 hours. Ethereum's Ether is near $2,506, up about 0.6%.

XRP is around $1.41, up roughly 1.7%, the strongest move among these quoted assets. Solana is near $110.46, up 0.3%, while Hyperliquid is around $85.91, up 0.4%.

These are recording prices, and the picture is mixed rather than another broad collapse. Tell us what would restore your confidence. A higher Bitcoin price, returning fund buyers, or stronger trading liquidity? This is not financial advice. Crypto trading involves risk of loss. Yesterday, Friday's numbers were unfinished. We can now say United States' spot Bitcoin exchange traded funds received $21.1 million on October 9th. That ended two consecutive withdrawal days, but left the week from October 5th through October 9th, with net outflows of $678.9 million.

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust brought in $22.4 million on Friday, while VanEck added $2.3 million and Delity lost $3.6 million.

The positive total was real, but narrow. It was not a broad rush back across every issuer. Ethereum's funds supplied the less reassuring half. They lost $56.1 million on Friday, taking their weekly withdrawal total to $542.2 million.

Every session that week was negative. Adding the tracked Solana, Hyperliquid and Zcash fund groups brings withdrawals across those five categories to approximately $1.29 billion.

That figure describes this particular set of funds, not every crypto investment product worldwide.

Why does that matter if your coins sit in your own wallet?

Fund subscriptions and redemptions change demand for the underlying assets. Persistent withdrawals can weaken one source of buying support. But these figures do not identify every seller, prove that every investor is institutional or tell us what motivated each redemption. They also describe completed weekday sessions. United States stock market funds are not generating a new Saturday trading session flow today. A weekend price move can happen without a fresh exchange traded fund purchase behind it. The constructive interpretation is that Bitcoin's selling pressure through this channel eased at the end of the week. The counterargument is that $21 million does little to repair nearly $729 million withdrawn across Wednesday and Thursday. Ether's continued withdrawals make it harder to call this a broad return of confidence. For holders, the next useful test is persistence. Another positive Bitcoin session, wider participation across issuers and an end to Ether's withdrawal streak would strengthen the recovery case. Renewed large outflows would undermine it. Watch the next completed trading session report, rather than treating a small Friday improvement as a durable turn. There is a second distinction today. A market can have deeper order books while investment funds are withdrawing. Those measurements answer different questions. One concerns subscriptions. The other concerns how much buying or selling an exchange can absorb near the displayed price. CoinDesk Research's new study found roughly $11.7 million of Bitcoin orders within 1% of price in its October 7 sample, about 75% above the comparable crash day measurement a year earlier. Its altcoin basket showed the opposite pattern. Dollar depth within 5% of price was about a third below January 2025

CoinDesk researcher Saksham Diwan described the major coins' improvement as ...real capital, not a price effect. Research lead Joshua DeVos expects the gap between majors and most altcoins to persist into next year. That is his forecast, not a certainty. These are sampled books, not a guarantee that orders remain during stress.

Bitcoins measured near price depth fell about 12% between October 7th and October 8th. The forecast would weaken if smaller coins rebuilt sustained dollar liquidity and attracted broader trading. Watch executable order depth, not just the number of tokens advertised for sale. Would you trust an altcoin rebound without seeing more money available on both sides of its order book? Robinhood Chain supplies the third development. Today's activity data show a slowdown without a matching disappearance of deposited money.

Coindesk's analysis puts average daily transactions at 6.2 million over October 2nd through October 8th, down about 42% from the middle of September. The newer GrowthyPy dashboard, updated this morning, reports 5.6 million transactions in its latest daily observation, down 21.1% against the corresponding week earlier measurement. Daily active addresses were 265,600, down 22.3%.
