Welcome back to the Daily Crypto Roundup. Bitcoin has fallen below $83,000 as oil and bond yields rise together again. The United States rejected Iran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Brent Crude jumped, and the 10-year treasury yield climbed toward 5.23%.

Meanwhile, Chainlink launched a more configurable cross-chain system. Bitget reopened Bitcoin withdrawals, and Franklin Templeton turned a $687 million tokenized fund into trading collateral. At the time of recording, Bitcoin is around $83,008, down approximately 1.7% over 24 hours after trading between about $82,598 and $84,926.

Ethereum is near $2,669 and down roughly 0.6%.

XRP is close to $1.49 and lower by approximately 1.3%.

While BNB is around $759 and Solana is near $118.23.

Hyperliquid is close to $87.52 and Cardano is around $24, both down more than 4%.

Chainlink is the exception. Near $14.22 and up approximately 1.5% after today's protocol launch. Tell us whether oil or exchange traded fund demand matters more to your Bitcoin outlook this week. This is not financial advice. Crypto trading involves risk of loss. The lead story is the return of the macro pressure that interrupted Bitcoin's recovery last week. Over the weekend, United States President Donald Trump rejected an Iranian proposal intended to resolve the conflict and reopened the Strait of Hormuz. He said talks would continue this week, but Iran has not publicly withdrawn its conditions. Brent crude rose as much as 3% to approximately $107.16 a barrel during Monday trading.

The United States' 10-year Treasury yield moved near 5.23%.

The dollar index held around 101 and global stocks weakened. Higher oil threatens another inflation impulse, making tight central bank policy more likely. Higher bond yields then raise the return available from safer assets and make volatile assets such as Bitcoin more expensive to hold. What changed today is the rejection of the Iranian proposal and the fresh jump in oil. What did not change is Bitcoin's network, the almost $2.4 billion that entered United States' spot Bitcoin funds last week or the Federal Reserve's policy rate. Monday's fund subscriptions will not be known until after today's market close, so it would be wrong to blame exchange-traded funds for the decline. The futures market has added speed. More than $500 million of leveraged crypto positions were liquidated during the pullback, according to market data cited in today's reporting. Dan Kuss of LVRG Research called it, Less a shift in trend and more a risk-off squeeze after last week's rally. That interpretation is plausible, but this week's economic data can prove it wrong. Tuesday brings the United States Job Openings Report. Wednesday brings Core Personal Consumption Expenditures Inflation and Second Quarter Growth. Friday brings the Monthly Employment Report, with economists expecting approximately 84,000 new jobs and unemployment around 4.1 percent. Stronger inflation or employment could reinforce higher rate expectations. Softer data could let yields and Bitcoin reverse. Leveraged Longs and High Beta Tokens Lose First The bearish case strengthens below today's $82,598 low, and the estimated average cost basis for United States spot Bitcoin funds near $82,225.

It weakens if Bitcoin retakes $84,926, while the 10-year yield falls toward 5 percent. Would you buy that recovery before seeing Monday's fund flows or wait for voluntary demand to confirm it?

Chainlink supplied the second story by launching Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol 2.0.

The upgrade keeps Chainlink's default network of 16 independent verifier operators, but lets an institution add another approval layer through a cross-chain verifier that it runs itself or obtains from providers such as Infosys and Nethermind. That changes the security model from one fixed recipe to a stack. A bank can require its own verifier before a token moves. An issuer can attach identity, anti-money laundering, sanctions and exposure rules. Transfers can prioritize speed or wait for full finality and additional approvals. Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud have starter kits for operating the added verifiers. The launch group includes ANZ Bank, Fidelity International, Deutsche Börse Group's Crypto Finance, SBI Digital Markets and Signum.

Chainlink says its existing cross-chain system has handled more than $84 billion of token value. April's $292 million KelpDAO exploit was attributed to a rival layer zero configuration that depended on a single verifier. Kelp later moved its token to Chainlink. That does not prove CCIP cannot fail. More components can create more configuration mistakes, and an extra verifier helps only when it is independent and correctly operated. Jane Ginsburg, Capital Markets and Fintech Lead at Amazon Web Services, said institutional capital will not move across chains at scale without infrastructure it can verify and trust. The harder test is usage. Named supporters and available software are not completed settlements. Users and token issuers gain if stronger controls reduce bridge losses and expand liquidity. Chainlink loses credibility if a custom verifier becomes a new single point of failure. Watch the first live institutional asset using the new verifier layer, the operator mix and any independent security audit. Bitget then delivered the most practical update for customers affected by last week's $388 million exploit.
