Hey guys, Stephan Livera here. We are coming to you from Bitcoin Asia, here in Hong Kong. I'm here with my friend Piriya. He's a well-known Bitcoin advocate in Thailand. For those of you who don't know, he has various things he's got going on. He's got a conference, he's got a cafe, he's got consulting, he's got education, he's got the works.
I wanted to chat, you've got a really cool cafe. Tell us a bit about that.

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (0:21)
It's a small little cafe outside of town, and it's called Citadel.
That's a place where people just go when we have all of our staffs are hardcore Bitcoiners. So anyone who is, any normies who come, can just come and ask questions. And we have like Bitcoin ATMs, we accept Bitcoin, we have books, we have like artworks in Bitcoin arts.

**Stephan Livera** (0:41)
Yeah, fantastic. And so obviously it's a way to get new people to get exposed to Bitcoin, even if they're not already like a hardcore Bitcoiner guy like we are, let's say. And I know you've got a few different things going there. So you've also got a lot of strong focus on the education side.

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (0:59)
I also co-founded Brightshift, which is a Bitcoin education company. Yeah. At the Cafe, we also host classes, workshops, right? So there's a whole other annex building that we can hold like a class of 50 people. So we do hold regular classes on like Bitcoin self-custody, multi-stakes and seed signers, stuff like that.

**Stephan Livera** (1:19)
Fantastic. And then I guess you're seeing a lot of interest now, obviously with all this post code card and these hacks that we're seeing, you're seeing a lot of interest on that side?

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (1:27)
Yes. And I'm actually launching a new company called MeBit, which will be focusing on like advisory, consulting and collaborative custody.
That's going to be a new thing for Thailand. It's not a new thing for the world, but like Thai people doesn't have that.

**Stephan Livera** (1:41)
You're going to kind of localize it for the Thai model, let's say. So you would hold one key, the user holds two keys, something like that, or what?

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (1:47)
That's the plan. We're still working with the other authorities, trying to get everything right, everything legal. And the worst case, the user holds three keys, but we can keep in touch and keep in contact.

**Stephan Livera** (1:58)
I see. So you might offer like different models, like where maybe you guide them and they hold their own keys fully, and then maybe you hold one key and they hold two.

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (2:05)
If they say that themselves, it's totally free. That's it.

**Stephan Livera** (2:08)
Right. Okay. But then that's going to be a lot of time for consulting and coaching. So I guess we'll see how you make the model work.

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (2:17)
We'll make it work.

**Stephan Livera** (2:18)
Yeah.

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (2:18)
We're also doing a conference.

**Stephan Livera** (2:20)
Yeah. Well, let's talk about that. So what are the dates of the conference you've got?

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (2:22)
That's 28th, 29th November.

**Stephan Livera** (2:25)
Gotcha.

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (2:25)
Yeah. So that's the third. I've been previously.

**Stephan Livera** (2:28)
Yeah.

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (2:29)
You've been both in 2023, 2024, this is our third time. It's the only biggest Bitcoin conference in Bangkok.

**Stephan Livera** (2:39)
Fantastic. So tell us a little bit about what are the main topics you've got and what you're planning for the conference. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this time, but tell us a bit about it for the listeners.

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (2:50)
Well, this year, I think we're going to shift the focus a bit. For the last two years, we've been focusing more on the Bitcoin culture, low time preference thinking, stuff like that.
This year, we want to focus more on building for the future, building better custody method, building better apps, better user experience. So, there will be more focus on tech and Bitcoin development in general.

**Stephan Livera** (3:15)
Well, while we're on that, let's talk a bit about from a Thai perspective. What are the main businesses, apps, infrastructure, so people can understand what's out there in terms of exchanges, self-custody, give us a bit of an overview there.

**Piriya Sambandaraksa** (3:28)
Thailand is, you can say it's well-regulated in the crypto space. So, we have a lot of regulations, we have a lot of licenses. That makes it so that if you want to buy Bitcoin, there are like registered exchanges when you buy it easily. But it also makes it hard for entrepreneurs to start business because you then would require multiple license to do things. We were talking about me a bit earlier.
