All right, there's this amazing book called Getting Everything You Can Out Of All You've Got. I read it a few years ago and it changed my life.
And the reason I loved it was because it basically talks about how to get and make more money using things that you already have.
Coincidentally, today's podcast is brought to you by Business Made Simple. It's a podcast by Donald Miller, who I'm gonna tell you about in a second, but he has this amazing episode that's all related to this book and the things that I learned in this book. It's called How To Make Money With What You Already Have. It's an incredible episode. Talks about all the stuff that I learned in this book. The host is Donald Miller. I didn't know who Donald Miller was up until recently, but over the last 12 months, this is totally by coincidence. It was all separate people. They said, you have to check out Donald Miller. He's amazing. So I'm happy that he's part of HubSpot's Podcast Network. You can check it out, Business Made Simple Podcast. It's where he coaches you on how to build your business like an airplane, where the cockpit is your leadership, the body is your overhead, the right engine is your marketing, the left engine is your sales. You have to check it out. This guy's amazing. It's called Business Made Simple with Donald Miller.
Tyler Perry, I don't know a lot about him, but I know that he's a baller.
Yeah, I mean, he's incredibly talented.

**Steph Smith** (1:09)
So what's cool about Tyler Perry is like one, he's a billionaire, but I mean, not a ton of people are billionaires, but like he is, I think, an unexpected billionaire in the sense that some people haven't even heard his name, right? And there's a lot more people who you would think are more well known, who at least at first glance have done more things, but he's done a ton of things. But just to compare it, you're like, okay, a billion dollars, like he works in, you know, in the movie slash TV slash play industry. So like, okay, that doesn't sound so crazy, but like Taylor Swift, guess what her net worth was? I pulled this earlier this year, so it's probably way higher, but.

**Sam Parr** (1:47)
Maybe what, 50?

**Steph Smith** (1:48)
So 365 million.

**Sam Parr** (1:51)
Oh my God.

**Steph Smith** (1:52)
Leo DiCaprio, how much do you think his net worth is?

**Sam Parr** (1:54)
100

**Steph Smith** (1:55)
260 Serena Williams.

**Sam Parr** (1:59)
Is Serena the oldest or the youngest?

**Steph Smith** (2:01)
She's the younger one. Venus is the older.

**Sam Parr** (2:05)
200?

**Steph Smith** (2:06)
Yeah, so 225 Anyway, I share those because.

**Sam Parr** (2:09)
What are those, what's that source?

**Steph Smith** (2:13)
I don't know. I mean, some site on Google. So yeah, take it with a grain of salt.

**Sam Parr** (2:16)
Dude, those sites are bullshit. If you Google, like, I tested this. If you Google a couple people's net worth, some of my personal websites come up number one, and I just made this shit up. And I've seen people cite it.

**Steph Smith** (2:28)
Well, yeah, I mean, definitely take it with a grain of salt because I've definitely Googled some of this stuff before and you'll see someone and one site will be like, their net worth is like 50K and another site, it'll be like, their net worth is 50 million. So it's, it definitely, you know, can vary, but the point is.

**Sam Parr** (2:41)
Through the podcast, I've met one or two like celebrities who if you Google, they'll be like, yeah, they're worth 10 or 15 And I've talked to them. They're like, I wish.
They're like, I got, they're like, I make like $100,000 a year.

**Steph Smith** (2:53)
So Tyler Perry is like, at least I think he was like written about by several different publications. I think they verified he's a billionaire.

**Sam Parr** (3:00)
I believe with him, with him, I believe it, because he's on the Forbes list.

**Steph Smith** (3:04)
Yes, exactly.

**Sam Parr** (3:05)
So Forbes is very reputable for that, for that reason.

**Steph Smith** (3:08)
His story is awesome because he basically, I mean, he didn't start out with much. So he used to, when he was younger, he used to watch his dad subcontract and his dad would make 800 bucks.
And the person who he's contracting for would like net 80,000 and he remembers thinking at the time like, I always knew there was more power in the man that owned the house rather than the man working on building it. So I wanted to be the guy who owned the house. So he like very early on understood the principle and the importance of ownership.
