This episode is brought to you by Carhartt. We spent a lot of time talking about what happens on the field. But what about everything that has to happen before anyone can play on it? The grass has to be grown, the stadium has to be built, the goal posts have to be welded. That's the work of tradespeople committed to getting every detail right. And Carhartt is proud to outfit those people, the crews making football possible. So this season, when you're watching the game, take a second to think about the people behind it. Welcome to The Ringer Fantasy Football Show. My name is Danny Heifetz. I'm joined by Danny Kelly, Craig Horlbeck. And today it is Power Hour, where we power rank something every Wednesday. And today we are power ranking players who are making the leap, the new elite, the guys who have gone up a level in front of our very eyes or whatever the leap means, right, Craig?
Craig Horlbeck (3:06)
Yeah, fantasy and real life. I don't know if these guys are like, maybe they already were household names, maybe they're not. But in either way, they are they are kind of in the upper echelon now at their position in the league.
Danny Heifetz (3:19)
So we're going to get to that. But first, I want to talk about Monday Night Football. So Bill's Rams went over time. Bill's won 37-34.
Craig Horlbeck (3:26)
Game of the year.
Danny Heifetz (3:28)
Game of the year.
Craig Horlbeck (3:28)
Actually, though. Yeah.
Danny Heifetz (3:30)
Basically, a Bill's home game in SoFi Stadium, even though it was in LA. But I mean, the Rams had a lot of starts. Second time ever that the two previous MVPs played against each other on Monday Night Football.
First three quarters, a lot of penalties, 11 accepted penalties on each team.
Danny Kelly (3:44)
Every week, man.
Danny Heifetz (3:45)
It's crazy. And every time I wanted to be those refs, and then they'd show the replay, and I was like, ah, that was a penalty.
But then the fourth quarter, a lot of points, 35 points in the fourth quarter. Both teams blew the game. In overtime, James Cook went full scataboo in overtime, fumbled his...
Craig Horlbeck (4:01)
Landman out here, landman, punching out James Cook twice. Two perfect peanut punches. I couldn't believe it. It's like, I'm almost like, what running back wouldn't fumble in that situation? If you're just running and some guy comes flying in like Captain America and punches the ball out, you're screwed.
Danny Heifetz (4:19)
I do think that this is Apex this week. Maybe this year is Apex Mountain for just the peanut punch. I do feel like there were three guys in the NFL that used to be able to do it. It was Charles Tillman. It was Tom Zabikowski, who was like a boxer on the Ravens who played safety. Now I feel like every team has five guys that could do an incredibly well executed force fumble. Yeah.
