Alright, 3.32, we're waiting on news of the New York Giants, but we've got the line up for the New York Yankees tonight against the Boston Red Sox. And you want to play the game, Gallo? Did you see this yet or no?

**Chris McMonigle** (0:19)
I did not.

**Craig Carton** (0:19)
Okay, so I don't know if you were listening, I know you're busy doing multiple jobs, but we talked about the platoon nature of the Yankee lineup. And how against left-handed pitching, they could unveil the right-handed hitting lineup.

**Chris McMonigle** (0:36)
Ramos, Coltschmidt.

**Craig Carton** (0:39)
Any thought on what they did? Do you think they stuck with the guys who've been scoring runs and probably overall better players? Or did they let the Red Sox dictate what's going to happen and the left-handed pitching and they went to their right-handed lineup?

**Chris McMonigle** (0:51)
I think that... I would say they stuck with the lineup they had last night.

**Craig Carton** (0:59)
You do?

**Chris McMonigle** (1:00)
Yes. I mean, unless catcher flip or something.

**Craig Carton** (1:03)
All right. So who's leading off tonight?

**Chris McMonigle** (1:11)
Can you just give me the position and then I'll tell you who's playing it?

**Craig Carton** (1:14)
All right. That's better.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:14)
You're right.

**Craig Carton** (1:15)
Okay.
Who's the catcher? We'll go one to... You know who the pitcher is, Cam Schlittler.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:20)
So I'm assuming it's Wells tonight.

**Craig Carton** (1:21)
Two. That is correct. It is Wells.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:23)
Yes.

**Craig Carton** (1:24)
Who's playing first base tonight?

**Chris McMonigle** (1:27)
Well, this is going to tell us everything.

**Craig Carton** (1:28)
It's...

**Chris McMonigle** (1:29)
It's García.

**Craig Carton** (1:31)
It is not.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:32)
Oh, so...

**Craig Carton** (1:33)
Paul Goldschmidt is leading off and playing first base.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:36)
Is García de-aging?

**Craig Carton** (1:38)
García is not de-aging.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:40)
Is he playing second?

**Craig Carton** (1:41)
He is not playing second. García on the bench.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:43)
Oh. Okay.

**Craig Carton** (1:46)
The best hitter over the last week, a force in the middle of the lineup, is not in the lineup for tonight's game.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:54)
So third base is...

**Craig Carton** (1:56)
Third base is...

**Chris McMonigle** (1:57)
Well... It's Rosario?

**Craig Carton** (1:59)
Well, let's go second base.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:00)
Okay.

**Craig Carton** (2:00)
Who's playing as second base? Jazz is you're starting second baseman batting seventh.
Playing third base...

**Chris McMonigle** (2:08)
It's Rosario.

**Craig Carton** (2:10)
It is not Rosario.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:11)
Caballero.

**Craig Carton** (2:11)
It's Caballero batting eighth and playing third base.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:15)
Lombard at short.

**Craig Carton** (2:16)
Lombard. You got me saying it. George Lombard.
He is playing shortstop, hitting sixth. In left field...

**Chris McMonigle** (2:25)
Bellinger.

**Craig Carton** (2:26)
Bellinger batting third in center field.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:28)
Grisham.

**Craig Carton** (2:28)
Grisham batting fifth against the right-handed pitcher, left-handed pitcher, he's batting fifth. And then in right field, it is...

**Chris McMonigle** (2:37)
I hope it's Spencer Jones.

**Craig Carton** (2:39)
It is not.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:39)
It's Ramos.

**Craig Carton** (2:42)
Aaron Boone and the New York Yankees went to their platoon lineup.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:46)
And they've been Rice de-aching.

**Craig Carton** (2:47)
And they have been Rice de-aching, hitting second. So it's Goldschmidt at first, Rice batting second, de-aching, Bellinger hitting third in left field. Ramos, your clean-up hitter. Now, he smashes left-handed pitching. That's what he does. He has not done it as a Yankee. He's not hit at all as a Yankee. He's your clean-up hitter in right field. Trent Grisham was cooled off after a hot stretch that was pretty much carrying the team.
He's in center batting fifth. George Lombard back at it tonight without the day off, without the mental break. I think it's the right thing to do, hitting six, playing short. Jazz, who had a great series against Houston, and hopefully he's starting to turn the corner here, batting seventh against the left-handed pitcher and playing second base. Caballero remains your third baseman. So that's the one surprise. Rosario is not playing third base. Caballero, they go for defense at third base and keep Caballero at third.
And Rosario's numbers this year against left-handed pitching have been bad. Traditionally, his career, he mashes left-handed pitching. This year, he has not done so. They don't go to Sanchez at catcher. They keep Wells in there, and he's catching hitting ninth.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:55)
So the Spencer Jones thing bothers me, too, because we're talking about another young guy who's playing well.

**Craig Carton** (4:01)
He's played well, and he's hit left-handed pitching in a brief short sample size. Over the last couple weeks, he's done better against left-handed pitching. Traditionally, minors and early on in his first couple stints at the Yankees, he did not hit left-handed pitching. He's been a little bit better against it over the last two weeks, three weeks or so.
