Craig Carton (0:29)

You gotta let me know if you want to go to that, by the way.

Chris McMonigle (0:31)

Okay.

Craig Carton (0:31)

I was talking with him last night. So if you do want to go, you're gonna have to tell me probably, I would think by Friday, by tomorrow.

Chris McMonigle (0:39)

September 16th.

Craig Carton (0:40)

It's next Wednesday. So if you want to go see my guy, I'll take care of it for you. But you gotta let me know, is tomorrow enough or you want to let me know Monday?

Chris McMonigle (0:48)

Yeah, I mean, it's just, you know, it's very difficult for me to get away. But I was supposed to say it's chops.

Craig Carton (0:53)

I mean, you don't have to go.

Chris McMonigle (0:53)

It's all good. Yeah, I don't think I can, to be honest with you.

Craig Carton (0:55)

All right, so you're out.

Chris McMonigle (0:57)

Yankees, you know, Yankees, Yankees. All the Yankee day game color.

Craig Carton (1:00)

20 years of the Carter albums. You want to go see the Yankees play. Jones Beach in September, a great venue.

Chris McMonigle (1:06)

It is.

Craig Carton (1:07)

Yeah.

Yeah. Uh-huh. Okay. Anyway. I'm pissed at Lane Kiffin right now anyway.

Chris McMonigle (1:13)

You're pissed at Lane Kiffin?

Craig Carton (1:14)

Yeah, I'm pissed at Lane Kiffin.

Chris McMonigle (1:16)

What'd he do to you?

Craig Carton (1:17)

He invited Wayne to the game on Saturday. So I can't tape an episode on Saturday.

Yeah.

Chris McMonigle (1:24)

Big LSU fan, huh?

Anthony Gallo (1:25)

Die Hard LSU fan.

Craig Carton (1:27)

He's going to be on the sideline.

Larry (1:28)

Crazy.

Craig Carton (1:29)

For the game. But they're favored by 50

Larry (1:31)

I also saw...

Craig Carton (1:31)

They play Louisiana Tech. It's not even a school. Yeah.

Chris McMonigle (1:35)

I also saw he was very broken up about...

Craig Carton (1:38)

About Barry Melrose.

Larry (1:39)

About Barry Melrose.

Chris McMonigle (1:40)

Obviously very sad.

Craig Carton (1:41)

Yeah, he passed away, right?

Chris McMonigle (1:42)

Yeah, Barry Melrose recently passed away.

Craig Carton (1:43)

I'm not sure how well he knew him personally, but he's a big fan of whether TSPN or FS1, etc.

Larry (1:50)

Yeah.

Craig Carton (1:51)

So maybe he took that one to heart.

Chris McMonigle (1:53)

Yeah, Barry did a great job. He was a lot of fun.

Craig Carton (1:54)

Did he have cancer or something?

Chris McMonigle (1:56)

You know, I didn't see that if he was ill. He was 70 years old, which is young these days.

Craig Carton (2:02)

Yeah, like 1953 or more, right? So anyway, may he rest in peace, Barry Melrose. But I was saying away, I'm like, dude, it was Parkinson's. Sorry to hear that.

Larry (2:11)

Oh, that's right. He did have Parkinson's.

Craig Carton (2:13)

I feel bad. Obviously, you feel bad for anyone suffering through that. Take a couple more calls on Volpe.

It looks like the referendum is in though. Most Yankee fans are happy he's back, but we'll see. We'll get to hardball here in a second as well. Larry's on the fan, Carton Show, Big Mac. Larry, good afternoon. How are you?

Larry (2:32)

Doing fine. Doing fine here in nice, cool Las Vegas.

Anyway, there is an option. Yeah.

There is an option. What's the option? He's been ignored. The option is the guy who is batting 290, Oswaldo Cabrera. Look at his numbers. Look at his numbers. He's played more second base this year than Volpe. Now, right now, he's playing third base and he's leading the team in batting 17 home runs, has an over 700 OPS. And this is a Yankee who broke his leg, came back and worked his way up this year.

Craig Carton (3:07)

So bottom line is this, you're not happy that Volpe is coming back. I don't care who you want to replace. You don't want him back, right?

Larry (3:14)

Not one iota. Now, he's got pictures of Cashman.

Craig Carton (3:17)

I don't understand why you're there in Las Vegas. You're the type of guy that likes to have a good time. Is that right?

Larry (3:25)

Well, I did. OK, so I'm a little old. I'm a little too old now. I've been Yankee since 1947 I appreciate that.
