Remember how last week the Jets had a home game at MetLife Stadium, and the conditions were very similar. It was rainy, it was wet, it was just not ideal to hold a football. And so we had a lot of fun with the accidental comment that was made about how the Green Bay Packers were handling their footballs going into the game. It sounded like this.

Joe Benigno (0:19)

They were hosing down their balls.

Evan Roberts (0:21)

They were hosing down their balls as a way to practice for the wet conditions. AJ Ross, who's the sideline reporter for this weekend's giant game.

Kudos. Because I'm going to play a clip, and you're going to see that AJ either listens to the show or knew. I gotta be careful.

Tiki Barber (0:39)

Yep.

Evan Roberts (0:40)

Listen to the way she makes a mistake, and then immediately says, I'm not making the same mistake she made.

Tiki Barber (0:47)

Both teams had prepared all week with wet balls, footballs throughout the practices.

Sean Morash (0:53)

Seriously? They prepared with wet balls.

Craig Carton (0:55)

Oh crap, footballs.

Evan Roberts (0:56)

So she clarified quick enough to know, I gotta be careful with this whole wet balls discussion.

Craig Carton (1:02)

She doesn't want to be meme-able.

Evan Roberts (1:04)

And I think when you correct yourself within like a split second, it doesn't count.

Craig Carton (1:09)

Yeah, of course. And unlike me last week, you don't have to dump it.

Tiki Barber (1:13)

We don't have to dump it. Both teams had prepared all week with wet balls, footballs throughout the practices.

Evan Roberts (1:19)

You could tell she was thinking about it.

Richie (1:21)

She's like, I'm not falling for this.

Craig Carton (1:22)

And she knew she was what she wanted to say. And she's like, damn it.

Sean Morash (1:26)

And we got one more chance, because next week, early forecast, pouring rain all day, Sunday at MetLife.

Evan Roberts (1:30)

Are you kidding me?

Sean Morash (1:31)

It's supposed to be nice all week right now. 70% chance of driving rain all day.

Craig Carton (1:34)

Come on, of course.

Evan Roberts (1:35)

I'm not worried yet, because we're still six days out. But you can't tell me that for three consecutive Sundays in September and now early October.

Sean Morash (1:44)

Four. Remember, it rained for head. It only dried out ahead of Sunday Night Football the first week.

Evan Roberts (1:48)

That is true. We didn't feel it because the game was at night. But yeah, that's nuts.

Every freaking Sunday, we get rain.

Sean Morash (1:55)

No, I'm going Sunday. So it'll absolutely monsoon. So don't wait for it to change.

Evan Roberts (1:59)

Now, how are you going to handle your podcast work after that game is over?

Sean Morash (2:01)

We are doing it about three hours after instead of immediately.

Evan Roberts (2:03)

I think you should do it from the parking lot or from the stadium.

Sean Morash (2:06)

Yeah, sure. I'll just whip out the wet fall and that'll be great. Actually, I can't even because my AirPods went through the washing machine yesterday. So that sucks for you.

Evan Roberts (2:13)

Yeah, at least your football team won.

Sean Morash (2:15)

Yeah, we got to win.

Evan Roberts (2:16)

Let's go to Mark in North Haven. What's up, Mark?

Mark (2:20)

Good morning, guys. Good morning. Hats off to Lindor for his 300th career home run yesterday.

Evan Roberts (2:26)

Yeah, Lindor went number 300 I'm not sure how many people know besides me and Mark. But yes, congratulations to Francisco Lindor.

Mark (2:32)

I didn't.

Sean Morash (2:33)

It's Lindor now.

Mark (2:35)

That's awesome. Hey, thank god the Mets season is finally over. But looking forward to what Jefferson Rojas, our top prospect, can do.

Evan Roberts (2:44)

Well, thank you, Mark.

Sean Morash (2:45)

You know what?

Evan Roberts (2:45)

We're not going to go in the dip detail of Jefferson Rojas. We'll save that for the Rico.

Craig Carton (2:49)

But is that the good looking guy?

Evan Roberts (2:51)

No, that's... Jefferson Rojas is the guy they got in the Clay Holmes Tyrone Taylor trade.

Craig Carton (2:55)

I got it. Got it.

Evan Roberts (2:56)

Listen to the Rico during the offseason, you'll know full well. But I'm glad he mentioned Mets because there is one Met mention that is worthy of doing today on Monday, September 28th with the season finally over.

Let's check in on how we did. Our predictions from the beginning of the season in February on March 26th. Let's start it off with Tiki Barber. Tiki, March Tiki, how are the Mets gonna do in 2026?
