Best of the Giants on WFAN: Jaxson Dart concerns?

We've talked about John Harbaugh since the moment he came here, the difference that we think he will make. So I'll ask it this way.
The mentality of the coach, which we sort of got into before the break with when CeeLo was sitting here, when you go from, see, I thought Brian Dable was the type of coach that was going to hold guys accountable, but then you, you know, you certainly saw different things when, I'm blanking out, who was the interim head coach? Who was that interim coach of the Giants when Dable was let go? Well, whatever, remember he held the player accountable? It's okay. Then he was holding the player accountable and it was a different thing from the way Dable might have been letting guys get away with certain things, talking about the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, so now you've got Harbaugh comes in and it sounds like there's a clearly a new sheriff, but it also seems like we're not taking anything lightly and you are going to be accountable. That means what in the locker room, we started to talk about it before the break. What does that mean top to bottom from the star player to the Jaxson Dart who was held accountable in practice the other day to the guy that's trying to make the roster?

The problem with a lot of good coaches, they fall into this weird dynamic, especially in a locker room where guys feel like they're, they have me guys, right? Like when I was in Pittsburgh, especially my rookie year, they were a group of guys, especially on the defensive side, they were called cowers guys. You know what I mean? They were, and you've been around and we're like, no, yeah, this is a team, but these select group of guys are my guys.
There tends to be a special relationship, whatever, maybe because of experience, history, whatever, or maybe because he drafted. And I think sometimes when you see, when you hear guys not being held accountable, the guys that get away with some things are the guys who are considered the coaches guys. So they get maybe leniency, you know, and like Tommy used to always have, I may treat everybody the same. I treat everybody fair, but I won't treat everybody the same. And he would say that about selective guys. He would say it openly to the team, like how I treat you, I won't treat James Hammerson this way. Right, like how I treat this guy, I won't treat Heath Miller this way. So, and, but at the same time, if the locker room is strong enough and there's a buy-in about what the culture is, what the culture is and what the standard is, those little things don't tend to kind of pop up or care about, right? Because those guys are accountable for their own actions and they understand when the lights is on, they got to go. When you're dealing with a young team right now, in the Giants, and you're trying to build this thing around certain pillars that are young, you have to make sure the guys that you're building around or held to the higher standard are accountable, because everybody's going to fall in line behind them. Of course. And so I think from Dayball, if you're able to get after Jaxson Dart, if you're able to penalize him, and as much as you want to say, we love your Swagger, we love your Moxie, we still need you to be composed, we still need you to be that guy, because if you're unhinged, then everybody behind you unravels. So I think that's him just being a great coach. And I also think right now a lot of guys, sometimes if you see other guys fall in line and other guys get criticized and put to the post, if you will, that also be like, oh, things are serious. You start to get a little, you get serious about your job, right? You don't question leadership or question things that happen. So I think it's good for Dayball, excuse me, Dayball, Harbaugh, excuse me, to start laying that type of law down, because at the end of the day, the Giants don't have an easy road. You know, they need all hands on deck to get to where they want to get to. Hopefully it's a wild card.

Yeah, I mean, and I said to Gio the other day, I actually put them in right in the conversation with winning the division. I just don't think that there's division.
