JJ, kids are wearing baggy clothes. There's a new 7 video game out, and my New York Knicks are in the NBA Finals. The 90s are back, baby, and we all know the 90s is the GOAT decade.

**JJ Zachariason** (0:15)
Yeah, great movies in the 90s, including The Mighty Ducks, right? You had D1 that came out, the original Mighty Ducks, which was a good movie, solid, right? You had D2, which was the better movie, kind of like Becoming a Best Ball Bro, where season one, pretty good season, but then season two happens, and I had a great finish in the Millie. We had great results in Best Ball last year. Let's just hope that season three doesn't go like D3. I'm JJ, and over the last couple of years, I've been doing everything I can to be a Best Ball Bro, and last season, things finally fell into place. I got 40th in the DraftKings Millie Contest, taking home $20,000.
Maybe I became a Best Ball Bro, but I'm still looking to learn more about this game, and I still want others to come on this ride with me. So even if you consider me a Best Ball Bro, this could be your year. This could be the year that you officially become a Best Ball Bro.

Welcome in to another episode of Becoming a Best Ball Bro. I'm JJ Zachariason, joined as always by Rich Ryan. Rich, great to see your face. How's it going, buddy?

**Rich Ryan** (2:17)
Likewise, buddy. Things are amazing. The World Series of Poker started last week, as we said at the top, or as I said at the top, the Knicks are in the NBA Finals. I literally can't believe it. And it's best ball season. I could not ask for anything else.

**JJ Zachariason** (2:30)
It is funny every time we do, because this is season three, for those of you who have not been following the Becoming a Best Ball Bro journey. And hopefully you heard from the intro that this is a little bit different, because I don't want to frame this show as, you know, I don't want to say I've officially become a best ball bro. I don't think that's happened per se. I don't think anyone really has officially become a best ball bro, just because you're always iterating, you're always trying to get better. But it would be kind of disingenuous for me to just say like, I'm still going on this adventure of, I've now max entered multiple years now.
And then last year, I had good success over on DraftKings, you know, Advanced, I think, what was it, like 48 out of 150 milli lineups that I drafted, and was able to get 40th in the milli in the final. And so like, it would just, it seems a little weird if I'm just kind of framing this show the same way. So instead, let's just keep doing this show, because number one, a lot of people were asking for it, and a lot of people dig it. And I dig it too, because I like learning from some of the best in the business that are doing and drafting these best ball teams. But like, let's see if others that are listening want to take the next step in drafting a few more teams, and doing a little bit more. Maybe you've entered 50 milli lineups in the past, and you want to do 100 this year, whatever the case may be.
I'm just very excited to be behind the mic for this specific show once again.

**Rich Ryan** (3:52)
And best ball itself is ever changing. The strategies with which people deploy in that season are going to differ from the year before, because the NFL is changing. I think that's one of the things we'll get in today, or at least I want to bring up with one of the position groups. And I mean, just during this show, the one thing that has been a revolutionary change for me is the approach of fading zeros. That's been like a big thing that I've had to learn, and it's like the vegetables that I've had to eat, where like in the past, I'm like just hunting spike weeks and max points at all times, but there's a little bit of, we don't have the ability like we do in season long to make any transaction, so you better be fading the guys who are gonna give you absolutely nothing throughout the season.
