I have to spend a night overnight in a hotel, finally get there late. On the way back, my plane gets delayed overnight again. I have to stay at an airport hotel in Newark, but it's all worth it.

Welcome in to another episode of Becoming a Best Ball Bro, the season finale of season three. I'm JJ Zachariason, joined as always by Rich Ryan. Rich, how's it going, buddy?

JJ, I was thinking to you this past weekend at our fantasy football draft, not during the draft portion, but during my first round of golf, because you always use the golf analogy when you talk about regression. And I am horrific. I have what they deemed to have a 36 handicap. And on the third hole of the first round, I get a true par on a par five, which was the third handicapped hole on the course.
So I scored a double eagle. And I'll tell you what, JJ, I'm not going out tomorrow and scoring any double eagle.

Exactly, there's some nice regression for you. I'm hoping that I don't get any regression in the best ball streets this year, even though it's probably inevitable.
We are going to go over some of the lessons that I learned slash kind of reinforced, I'd say is a better word, this season while drafting 150 milli drafts, because I am officially finished with those. And then this is on top of drafting a ton of others. I think that I'll close out around 350 to 400 drafts this year, best ball.
Some, a lot of them fast, I did all fast drafts for the milli, some of them slow, but I just want to break it all down, so that we can talk through what happened this summer and what's to come. Last year, I hit well in the final, got 40th as we've talked about. And then on top of that, I had a good advance rate, I had 48 of the 150 advanced when you're hoping for 25, which is what expectation would say, because two out of 12 are advancing. So one out of six are advancing. So one out of six would equate to the 25 out of 150 So we'll see what happens this year. I feel okay. I feel like I felt more confident last year, because there were some players that I had been really heavy on that were rising in terms of CLV. And then, you know, I had last year, some of the big hits that I had within my best ball portfolio were like Kyle Monungay had a lot of Rico Dowdell, like an absurd amount of Rico Dowdell, which really helped those spiked weeks to kind of get me into the playoffs. And obviously, once you're in the playoffs, you're just hoping that one of those teams can really hit.

Yeah, we've had a late surge of some weird shifting at the running back position, obviously with whatever is going to happen with Josh Jacobs. And now, to obviously a lower extent, somebody like Jaden Blue getting cut. And now Malik Davis stepping into what assumes to be the RB2 role there in Dallas. But I feel like when you talk about things like the Menungai Doudal of last year, that was just you attacking an ambiguous backfield that had some success. This year, I feel like a lot of that has just been kind of random. And I feel like there's a lot of things that are just teetering on the knife's edge right now, that it's hard to predict which way it's going to go in either direction. So it does feel like there's a lot of variance that's going to come rushing our way once the ball gets kicked next week.
