Best thing that's ever happened to you financially, go.

SPEAKER_2 (0:02)

Easy, sold my car on Carvana, amazing offer. Really? I hit 200 on a scratcher.

Margarita Nazarenko (0:08)

Did the scratcher come to your house and hand you a check? No.

Lisa Bilyeu (0:11)

How many scratchers did you hit to get that?

SPEAKER_2 (0:13)

I hit a button on carvana.com once. Okay, that's fair. It's like the lottery, except you always win.

Not like the lottery at all, actually. Exactly, inexplicably good.

Lisa Bilyeu (0:25)

Offer's worth bragging about. Sell your car today on Carvana. Pick up these may apply.

What up, my homies? This is Lisa Bilyeu, and you are listening to Women of Impact. Let's get real for a second. How many times have you tried to calmly explain yourself, lay it out, clear as day, only to get dismissed, called too emotional, or flat out manipulated? You defend yourself, you try to stay rational, and suddenly you're the problem?

Raise your hand if you're tired of that crap. All hands up, because here's the truth. If you can't actually control yourself, the world and other people will. If you don't own who you are, someone else will gladly slap a label on you, gaslight you, and keep you down and everything about yourself. So today, I'm sitting down with Margarita Nazarenko, author of Unbothered, who's built an entire movement teaching women how to stop being bothered, stop being manipulated, stop being the good girl, and become absolutely freaking untouchable. Now, this conversation is about building your confidence and the kind of backbone that no manipulator, narcissist, or supposedly nice guy can ever crack. In the next hour, you're going to get the anti-manipulation playbook. That's right, from spotting how your phone literally trains you to accept crumbs, to the exact way to pause when the emotions want to burn the house down. Let me tell you, ladies, it never goes well, so trust me, you're going to want to hear that. Then we go on to the three moves every untouchable woman uses, especially when she feels the urge to just play nice, chase the drama, or keep giving when it's never enough. And then finally, we go into how rejection, dismissal, and everyday disrespect actually impacts your brain and the nobiest way to bounce back stronger than ever. Yep, even if you're stuck on an apology, that you'll never actually get. Now, my homie, this isn't about playing games, shrinking down, or pretending that you don't care. That just doesn't work, and actually, I think that's detrimental to us women in a way. This is the blueprint to truly becoming unfuck withable and still be open to that nice guy that may be around the corner. So if you're ready to stop apologizing for your boundaries and start freaking demanding more out of your life, then come with me and let's dive in right here, right now on Women of Impact. It's time for us to build our confidence.

So many of us women have had this scenario where someone crosses the line, they twist it back on us, and so we explain and defend ourselves calmly and clearly. Yet somehow we're still the ones who get shut down, demeaned or told that we're being too emotional.

So as the author of Unbothered, how do we actually build the kind of confidence that makes a woman impossible to manipulate?

Margarita Nazarenko (3:11)

Girl, what a question. First of all, I'm so happy to be here. You are like my podcast mecca.

But second of all, most women on our journey, we go through a certain cycle. So we go to school, we're very good at school. If we can be, we sit, we listen, we get our university grades, we're good for our parents, we get told that that is the way to achieve things in life. So we become anxiously attached. You attach to people and you're anxious. You wonder what they're thinking, you gaze into their eyes if they're looking at the window too long. You try and analyze what they're doing. Are you okay? You didn't like that I got sushi? Would you have rather we had steak? You are trying to monitor them for okayness because you outsourced your value to them. If they are unhappy, you're unhappy. If they don't value you, you don't value yourself. So the two types of women, I named them just to make it clear. Jessica and Amanda, I don't know where that downloaded from, but that's them. So that is the Jessica character. And how those women behave is they outsource their value, they over-communicate because they read somewhere in some book that what you have to do is crystal clear communication. You got to talk. So they talk a lot, they open up a lot, they write those long messages, you've made me feel this type of way. But then when you looked at me that way, I was a bit sad and the guy's like, yep, cool. And then they DM Margarita going, why is he ignoring me?
