Unsupervised with Syd & TP

October 8, 2026

One thing you can count on: Syd and TP are always going to stand on business. We know you've all wanted to hear from us and we’re ready to talk about it all. Not just one interaction with a belligerent b*tch boy, but the last decade of standing up for what's right.

Sydney Colson (0:00)

Oh, there's a long one. Oh, that's where she's at.

Oh, I love it when I do that.

SPEAKER_2 (0:06)

That's so crazy for you to start this off like that. But-

Sydney Colson (0:09)

It is, it is. I mean, y'all-

SPEAKER_2 (0:12)

Here we are. Here we are.

Sydney Colson (0:14)

Here we are recording in LA.

We stayed an extra day so that we could be in person for y'all because we've seen y'all tagging us. We've been busy, but we wanted to get back to you. We want you to know we've seen the hateful messages. Yeah. Thank you so much. We are going to try to respond to as many of y'all as possible. Yeah. But-

SPEAKER_2 (0:36)

Super thoughtful and well written, honestly.

Sydney Colson (0:40)

Hella thorough.

SPEAKER_2 (0:41)

But with all that being said, we're screenshotting.

Sydney Colson (0:44)

Yeah, we're screenshotting and sending to security. Yeah. You will be found.

It's getting reckless. So- But we're going to talk about it after the theme song.

SPEAKER_2 (1:30)

Does it feel special, Syd?

Sydney Colson (1:32)

It does feel special. I think, you know, it was high time to address some things that have been going on in the WNBA.

And we know y'all didn't enjoy our last episode as much.

SPEAKER_2 (1:45)

Yeah.

Sydney Colson (1:46)

Because you were waiting for this.

SPEAKER_2 (1:47)

And honestly, that's super disappointing because we thought last episode was gonna be a treasure. Right.

Sydney Colson (1:53)

They're like, oh, no mention of try again next week, y'all.

SPEAKER_2 (1:57)

Yeah. It wasn't our fault that an incident happened.

Sydney Colson (2:00)

It really wasn't.

SPEAKER_2 (2:01)

Moments after we recorded that beautifully poetic last episode. So if you haven't checked that one out, y'all go back to last week.

Sydney Colson (2:09)

Go back to last week. But shoot, let's get into it.

SPEAKER_2 (2:11)

Let's jump straight into it.

Sydney Colson (2:13)

Let's jump straight into it. So obviously, we were courtside at the Aces Fever game in Gamebridge. A moment that has become very viral because Asia committed a foul.

They called the foul. A fan stood up, was pointing at her.

I want to get in and saying whatever. She turns out they're saying that's on you, talking about the foul. No problem. Y'all are DMing us, commenting and saying, Oh, don't y'all feel fucking stupid, dumb monkey. Go back to where you're from, texting my girlfriend, commenting on videos from her childhood, calling the family monkeys, calling her.

SPEAKER_2 (2:58)

Reinstating slavery.

Sydney Colson (3:00)

Yeah, saying that they believe slavery should be reinstated. It's like, well, in some country, I mean, in some states, really, they just got rid of it. I think it was just crazy.

SPEAKER_2 (3:11)

Sometimes it's still on the ballot.

Sydney Colson (3:13)

Right. So I'm like, so y'all have escalated a moment that you're telling us wasn't that big of a deal. So I want to get the logic absolutely correct and make sure that I'm understanding everything. So her logic didn't make sense to respond to a fan who is allowed to say, that's on you and talk about a foul. Okay. So if you believe she overreacted, you now, a third uninvolved party, are inserting yourself into actually like fourth party. Mari is not a part of this at all. So now you've gone to talk about her, her family, my family, your family, calling us N-words, N-word lovers, all of these things and this is normal in your brain or no?

Because for me, you have to look at the entire context of the situation. You don't have to if you're not smart, but if you're smart, Asia is from South Carolina, has parents who are 70, around 70, maybe a little older than 70

They've seen some shit, I'm sure.

SPEAKER_2 (4:25)

In their lifetime, I'm sure.

Sydney Colson (4:26)

Because Ruby Bridges is only about 70 something and we know who Ruby Bridges is. If you don't go look it up.

Asia's grandmother couldn't walk the campus in South Carolina, couldn't be admitted to this school where Asia, arguably the best women's basketball player in the world right now, has a statue erected on that campus. I really just wanted to say erected. I didn't have to say erected, but for me, it meant something.

Do you see how all of these things in this context? And let me also add for you, so that's Asia's situation in her families when dealing with a grown white man pointing at her in a highly charged situation, because guess why it's highly charged. We have done little to nothing to address the problems that have happened within Gamebridge Field House, and in arenas where the fever are playing. It is fever fans, and don't come to me saying, it's not all because a lot of people are in my DMs telling me how they're the good fever fans. And it's true, because me and Marty had a positive experience there actually, for the most part. But it didn't mean that a lot of people were not sending us foul and reckless messages. And then when they decided to turn the tune, when the team started doing better, then you want to, you know, change stuff up. But even individual people were still receiving crazy amounts of criticism, backlash, not basketball related, racism, homophobia, sexism, whatever, all of it. The Holy Trinity, all of them. So, my thing is, you can't control how people respond to a highly charged situation where they might be triggered. Whether you think it makes sense or not, Aja felt, and she said in the post game, I didn't like how he was pointing, looking at me, and his wife.
