No, I don't think it is, Mark. I feel like I've done back to back episodes. And you're so funny. I hate the comments. The comments send me. They send me to another realm, but.

I don't understand. I've never understood why. I mean, I guess I get the haters and the ones who are just kind of, but they're not clever. So those don't do it. But the ones who are clever, the ones who've got a little game, I truly appreciate the game. I mean, that means it means it got some neurons firing.
I had a murder prelim the week before last, and I was jokingly telling the judge any sentient being, and she looked at me like, I said, you know, neurons firing. So, anyway, go on, we can try that.

Listen, listen, I would like to start with just playing a few seconds of the new ABC special. It's on Hulu. It's about the David case. It came out about a week and a half ago. Let's just play a little bit of it, Mark, so we can kind of get into this, because David has a hearing this week. I just want to remind everybody, because it's been a while since we've talked about this case.

I assume that's Celeste that was, as you're looking at the video to the right.

Yes, that was Celeste. That was a stream, a Twitch stream from a while ago, and that was circulating very early on after her body was identified. Mark, I did not continue with that video, but what is said on that video is very disturbing.
Celeste makes a comment about doing something to children. I guess maybe they were talking about Jeffrey Epstein, whatever, and David turns to her and says, I media trained you, we need to delete this. It's really disturbing, and they highlight that as pretty much the first thing that's seen on this documentary.

**Mark Geragos** (3:50)
It's interesting. Who did the documentary, by the way?

**Lauren Conlin** (3:53)
It was Impact Nightline, so ABC.

**Mark Geragos** (3:56)
ABC did it, so that's interesting, because ABC, I've had dealings with documentaries before. I'm looking at it from a defense lawyer's standpoint.
I'm going to guess that clips of that are going to come in, meaning into evidence and so on.

**Lauren Conlin** (4:25)
I mean, Mark, let me tell you something. Guess who speaks in that?
Hockman speaks, Scott Williams speaks. I was shocked. I was like, guys, don't give the defense a reason to say, hey, the jury pool is going to be tainted because you've got the DA talking. And I'm thinking, why did they agree to this?

**Mark Geragos** (4:45)
No, it's interesting. I've got another case where the DA is out there making pronouncements and things like that, not in LA County.
There are rules for that. You know, in the Well podcast, my partner is Matt Murphy, and Matt was a kind of a legendary Orange County prosecutor. And jokingly, people have said in the true crime space that Matt is on Dateline like every week. I mean, he had nothing, nothing but either serial killers, sexual predators, no body cases. I mean, Murphy had this whole, his repertoire, book of businesses, so to speak, was incredible. But one of the things that he was really good at doing is as a prosecutor, not tainting or trying not to taint the jury pool. Because you're, to your point, everybody always says, well, it's the defense leaking or the defense doing that. Remember what happens. The prosecution in the lead up to, and especially in this case, David is a perfect example of it. It's so long in the roll up to the arrest.
